  1. Cooling is needed on video cards on Balance Technology Extended (BTX) Explained · · Score: 3, Interesting

I have had many AMD processors overheat, but I have never had any intel do so.

Graphics card on the other hand require some serious cooling adjustments. I don't imagine BTX will really solve the heart of the cooling problem... the video card.

  2. What's wrong with Cameron on James Cameron's Illustrated Mars Reference Design · · Score: 1

This guy basically haven't made a blockbuster hit since the titanic. He has gone from being a good director who can mix technology/screenplays to just some documentary director.

It's like seeing shaq leaving the lakers at the top of his game to play for a charity league for good will.

  3. Fear the tradition on Videogames Make Traditional Super Bowl Predictions · · Score: 1

As a PATS fan, even I have to admit they just went from being a favorite to an underdog.

This damn video game event is a curse and a half. I used to not give a rats ass, but the winner clearly has a history of good luck in the superbowl.

  4. People only buy during christmas? on On Launching Major Videogames Outside Xmas · · Score: 1

I am sorry but if the game I want is out in June. This game is coming home with me the day it gets released. It's senseless waiting six months just cause it fits the tradition.

If I am hungry at 10pm, I shouldn't have to wait till next morning's breakfast. There are way too many people with shopping habits like this. That's why all the damn game companies gear around the holidays.

  5. Zip is old school on Slashback: Zip, Language, Opportunism · · Score: 0

I am sorry but zip is one of those things that has been around too long. Ace, rar, bzip2... now that's what M$ should support straight out of the box.

  6. I am worried on Comcast Targets Internet "Abusers" · · Score: 3, Insightful

When I play online games, the bandwidth is just plain insane. I did an estimate once with some network monitoring tool and it came to some 1 to 3 gigs worth of transfer over a 12 hr period.

If comcast said I can't play games, I am better off discontinuing the service. Why else would I need that much bandwidth.

  7. Capcom need 2D fighters on Capcom - Gladiators, Nightmares, Jean Reno? · · Score: 1

Ever since the creators of the 2D street fighter series left capcom, this company has lost my interests. Granted omnimusha, REvil, and megaman sequels are still coming out of the factory. Though they are lacking creativity more and more.

Capcom needs to do what IREM did for R-type. One final street fighter game with everybody, every move, alpha with regular characters. Hells, throw in street fighter the movie characters in too. Not these lame ass anniversaries.

  9. Translations are always tough on Nit-Pickers Guide to Deviations in Jackson's LotR · · Score: 5, Insightful

I can't think of a perfect translation from book to movie or video game to movie etc. Give Jackson some credit, he came pretty damn close to perfection.

Worst translations ever is still mortal kombat2 and double dragon the movie. LOTR could have ended up that bad, thank god it didn't.

  10. MyDoom victim on More MyDoom Gloom · · Score: 1

No joke. I know one person who is infected with this virus. He's making zero effort to patch fix it cause he hates SCO too much.

Since this virus is such a favorite I can imagine a mydoom2. Though mydoom3 will probably get delayed cause John Mccarmack said so.

  11. Perfect Linux on Debian Fastest-Growing Distro, Says Netcraft · · Score: 1

I had installed Redhat 9 perfectly with oracle and everything else. Then came next day the sudden slashdot news of redhat dropping support for regular linux in full support for advanced servers. Turning redhat to fecesdora.

I am now debating debian since it seems to have a real community behind it. But what if debian pulls a redhat. What's stopping them from turning into another greedy anti-free distro.

For the longest time gameboy had the ugliest graphics alive. They are lucky to have released GB color and advanced to compete with PSP when it comes out.

  17. Wolf Fan say DejaVu on Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory Public Source Released · · Score: 3, Interesting

Ok last time they released the source for the original RTCW, there were a ton of cheaters spawning out of nowhere. Then punkbuster and a million different patches came. It was DLL hell everytime.

This time, wolf ET is a free game with no finanical backing or any development attention as a matter of fact. Some bored 15 year old is going to create new aimbots and player-kicker scripts using the source.

As if activision isn't ignoring and neglecting this game enough.

  18. Quantity not Quality on RealNetworks Swallows Gamehouse · · Score: 2, Interesting
