    I never understood this acquisition by EMC. The whole virtualization thing in SAN is far from the OS level. You want to see virtualization in storage, look at HDS tagmastore. This vmware thing was the biggest publicity stun, they are just trying to bounce back from the 90s dominance which they are clearly loosing grip on.

    The OS emulation part of vmware workstation really has nothing to do with storage. All the other products are overkill. Which is what EMC does best, sell you way more software than you need. In the end people end up with HDS, HP.

    Anyone who actually cares about their web application reaching a larger audience will automatically make an effort to get firefox, netscape working regardless of what the law saids.

    People who are so against linux have got to see WINE in action. I have tried WINE and it can literally render windows app obsolete if it can just figure out how to be more user friendly.

    For example, there are alot of websites that shows pictures of office, photoshop, paintshop running in linux wine mode. But I have yet to find a site with exact registry instructions for all the most common apps. The teaching part is a mess.

    When netflix lowered their price in competition with blockbuster, netflix claimed they were in jeopardy of making pennies for profit. The opposite happened and their stock prices went higher.

    I am really confused as to whether everybody is still overcharging. Considering everyone has an endless queue list that seem to be sending things out of order again and again. There is still a real supply problem.

    Why did the parent get marked Troll? The podcasting name is the worst possible name giving Apple and iPod the automatic marketing advantage.

    In addition, there is nothing worst than free radio being censored because it is associated with a corporate entity that can be sued. Now Apple can filter whatever they deem inappropriate.

    The Japanese are still not apologizing. In the late 90s, a chinese historian wrote the book "The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II".

    The author Iris Chang eventually committed a suicide due to the stress of translating all the chinese holocaust stories. The Japanese committees were not apologizing and accused her of telling countless lies in her book.

    That is very very well said. Unfortunately everyone has figured out the 35 minutes part except for us americans. That's why terrorism is the wave of the future, and we're wasting time and effort stock-piling tanks.

In 1989 Japanese housing bubble, housing prices tanked for 13 straight years. US might do the same. The hi-tech industry is recovering alright considering the short period of time.

    What makes you think you can successfully get to Massport or Logan. The state is a mess with never ending construction. For starters the roads feature a million rotary, one-way streets, potholes, deadends, pits, mispainted lines.

    With one of the highest income in the country, the state is a tragedy in terms of tax spending. It's corrupted beyond hell. Need I point out all the big-dig joke sites.

    MK1 had enough inconsistencies to keep me wondering as to whether the directors ever played the game. You want to see a better MK1, watch BigTrouble Little China. They had Kunglao, Raiden, Baraka in their glory fashion.

    - Scorpion does not throw a snake. He throws a rope with a spare. This rope cannot fly around the forest and wrap around trees.

    - Raiden wears a lampshade hat at all times.

    - Reptile does not come from some invisible monster.

    - Subzero never could grow a giant iceball shield in any game.

    - Shangshung was way too young.

    I'd rather see American writers focus more time writing things that educate Americans in a global manner. There is already more than enough sci-fi,fiction written from the past 50 years, we don't need anymore startrek potter.

    American education literally revolve around European history. I feel like we were only taught Hitler was the greatest leader of all time from highschool. I find myself doing research on the House of Saud and other foreign matters just to keep up on today's news. Who cares about the Hugo award. Shift focus, lets read something else.

    To be able to contribute to an encyclopedia set so openly without a PhD or some acredited masters degree is a priviledge in itself.

    Rhapsody has the least amount of 30 second "buy-only" samples in a subscription based service. I have signed up for every service possible except for Yahoo music service, since everyone calls it beta.

    Pretty much every service offers a To-Go service. Which allowed me to not waste anymore hard drive space keeping songs forever. I actually used iTunes to keep track of how many times I listen to each song. The average is about 5-8 times.

    I'd been collecting mp3s since literally 1996. Everyone will eventually ask themselves why did I waste so many CDs burning songs that I'll never listen to again.

    No way. The most superior light weight editor is Editplus. Which does infinite syntax highlighting for ALL languages. Splitscreens, and a million other useful features.

    If you have wine running on linux, it can work there too. Editplus eats Emacs and VIM alive for breakfast.

    2 - this is the first time two companies have an arsenal of successful products to backup a flagship console. M$ in windows, Sony in electronics.

    3 - this is the first time where internet gaming is already established

    4 - This is the first time US vs Japan instead of Japan vs Japan at the start of the gate.

    Someone mod this guy +99, I am out of points. I could not have said it better myself. Titles are meaningless bigtime. That's why everyone is so heavy on the references during interviews to see if there is a record of you doing your job successfully in the eye of someone else.

    It's one thing to port applications. It's another thing to port a game. If only there was such a thing as universal graphics library that ATI, Nvidia and every other game vendor agrees on for all macs, linux and windows...the gaming world wouldn't be so one sided.

    LILO used to be the best check against bad kernel entries. It seems like GRUB is now the standard, though you use to just run "LILO". If you entries are bad, you'll know asap from the slew of errors in your telnet window.

    Backward compatibility is never 100%. There were PS1 games that never worked for PS2. I know first hand.... my PS1 Mortal Kombat Trilogy was one example. I was so angry, I threatened to piss on my shiny new PS2.
