I have been a real happy user with Rhapsody. Can anyone tell me if it's worth switching to Yahoo?
The reason why I dropped Napster was because of the insane percentage of "Buy-ONLY" songs. Why pay a subscription if you have to pay again to listen to half an album. I am really wondering if Yahoo doesn't have this problem. So far Rhapsody is clean.
Man, you are thinking too hard. Just interview Osama Bin Laden or any other famous terrorist what their favorite video game is. I guarantee you none of them play video games at all. They just got bottled up anger for society.
There is this weird assumption that people will flock to game development!? Why? Look at Half-life expansion packs, there are only a small handful even after all these years as the premiere title for making your own addons. Everyone tries, few find success.
You must work for Redhat to think that way. The supposedly "better" enterprise version is totally inaccessible to the general audience unless you had a Redhat network account. The less stable version Fedora is freely available.
Now you tell me.... why should the average user run Redhat Fedora if it's not the best version the company has to offer?
Last good version of Redhat is Redhat 9. Good enough for corporations to run production, free enough for everyone.
Yes Nintendo is software 1st, hardware 2nd. But their games are also Japan first, everybody else 2nd.
How about a focus group research to see what people outside Japan really want to play. More than half their games are so anime-ish with a stronger appeal for kids than adult.
"Actually, its server business has grown the last couple of quarters."
When you go from some of the worst quarters in the company's history, and say they improved. It doesn't say very much. I agree with the original poster, they are close to an exit strategy.
Someone give this dude mod points for actually trying to do the math. Everybody knows Sony management is trying to cut cost so their monthly million dollar bonuses are not affected.

While marked funny, this has to be the most true point I have ever read on slashdot. Anyways I'll shutup before someone mark me off topic.
Every race have endured beatings. You make it seem like Jews got the worst. At least their suffering was documented.
Try the Aztecs, they were wiped out to the point where no one is left to tell the story from their side.
The best random error ever to come out of Mortal Kombat was when the memory errored out. Happened on the arcade versions.
A red ninja popped up with a title "Errormachine". Which later became the character "Ermac".

You can believe Sony marketing that vFAT is truely more enhanced for electronic devices.
You can believe Sony doesn't want to pay M$ for using FAT. Therefore finding a need to innovate alittle.
You can believe Sony will probably not go very far with yet "another" standard it created.
The choice is yours...

Customer: Hi sir, I have my paper statement here which claims I had $1,000,234.01 in my account a month ago. Please bring my account back.
Employee: Ummm, let me verify that with my datab... I mean.... let me get my manager.
Customer: No problem. Take your time. Would you like some free coffee. It's on me.

I am convinced more people on slashdot know what to do with AOL than the AOL-management team. Therefore, no... you shouldn't like the company.
Several hundred million user base.... but what percentage really are "GAMING READY"?
I don't think everyone has a ATI Radeon 9800 and Nvidia Geforce 6800GT. The forgotten part is FAST processor and 512+ MB RAM.
Are you implying it's okay for Windows to be hacked 20 times if Linux is also hacked 20 times?
If Linux has vulnerabilities, then Windows have even less excuse as a billion dollar corporation.
So yahoo.com is packed with garbage ads. Then this http://mindset.research.yahoo.com/ comes out looking mighty close to google.
Hmmm.... Jeff Beizos is in trouble.

LOL to saying "hi" 30 times a day = crack addict.
If they really drop it to $100, it's a different war.
Glad you filled it in. I was going to propose he stop smoking his lawn ASAP.
It means the Phantom console will win every year.

I thought DRMs and other proprietory license BS is holding the market back.
In other news some teenager installed Vmware and ran 15000 instances of Linux on one box. Now linux has increased its market share by 15000 overnight.
You mean to tell me Gran Turismo runs on a Playstation with 2MB of memory. And we can't figure out how to run PC games with 1000MB.
Oh this one is very different. Sony BMG executives themselves claim it is "NEW" this time. Not just the marketing folks.
