Actually there was a trick where if you insert the game in the slot, and slide it as far to the left as possible before pressing it down... you will get the game to work without blowing. I don't know who started that blowing idea, but trust me... dust has nothing to do with it.
You know I see posts like this EVERY DAY. The guy on the other side of the spectrum who is saying "US troops don't belong" are actually doing your brother a favor.
The more heroic you make the troops, the more righteous it becomes for the administration to send more people down there. It's just better to tell them all they don't belong, so they can all come home.
If you think there will be less terrorists when U.S troops leave the region, you are crazy. We all respect the troops no doubt. But let's face it, we just made 10x more enemies.
Video game fans have endured too much in the past. Geeks, freeks, you name it... I am surprised there is no constitution approving video gamers equal rights in society.
The entire MPAA, RIAA and every other one of these lawsuit SCO-wannabe organizations have no idea what they are up against.
I have bought TONS of songs via iTunes, and I can tell you that I am ashamed to have spent $16 in the past per CD with 2 good songs because that's all they would market to me.
There are so many artists out there with great music, and probably great indie films too. You'll never get exposure to these great media as long as the record companies and MPAA have their way.
In "Good Will Hunting" Matt Damon's character didn't want to work for the NSA. That pretty much saids it all.
It's not a place where next generation tech-elites will submit their resume. Every techie I knew working for the NSA was better with politics than technology.
How the hell do you turn all this legal negativity into a product or service to sell? Amazingly SCO lawyers did it! Go to http://www.sco.com, under product & services you see
"SCO vs. IBM" "SCO vs. Autozone" "SCO vs. Novell"
You know your lawyers are good when they have convinced the webmaster to advertise their lawsuits just like any other products.
No, the PSP isn't riddled with problems. If it was you wouldn't be saying this in a Nintendo DS post as an anonymous coward!
Last I checked October 2004 versions of a couple magazines, Game Informer for example, showed the PSP doing is preping up excellently.
DS will launch first, PSP will follow. The pattern is expected to follow the 16bit era. Sega genesis launched first, then SNES came out and absolutely obliterate all competition. Remember the facts, Sony is the ONLY video game console manufacturer with every console a success.
Don't pray for any of these features to come to the U.S. We are taxed trillions of dollars and our soldiers can't even afford bulletproof vests in Iraq. We have no money for these kinds of innovations. Ever heard of the BREAD and GUNS economics theory. All economies have enough money to buy one or the other. U.S spent way too much on firepower.
In places like Japan the lifestyle is superiorly advanced compared to the average Americans. I have traveled there and seen with my own eyes. Hong Kong is on par with U.S, and China will leap ahead in 10 years. I literally using NYC as the U.S standard to compare.
I know slashdotters, make some shit up. Source code is worth nothing until it comes out of some good story.
A female russian spy escaped cisco with the source code after sneaking by an army of cisco security armed with AK-47s. She walked all the way to Ebay headquarters bearfoot and delivered 40 floppies in a pizza box. Her only weapon was a 10BaseT ethernet cable.
I am an ATI radeon 9800 card owner, and I am terribly disappointed by the driver issues and peformance that plagues every other game. If Mac has something better to offer, I'd like to see it now. There is no such thing as a more popular card. They are neck-to-neck compared to Nvidia.
Speaking of PLEXTOR, they used to dominate the industry with the best SCSI cdrom and cdrw by a huge margin. I am so hoping they will have one of those ultimate SCSI DVD roms that can outperform everything else. But at the rate format changes, we'll never see the end of tunnel.
This is the part that always baffle me. Eventually wouldn't there be a shortage of audience?! There are a ton of MMORPGs released every year. It sounds like the same people that play COH also play Everquest for example. Wouldn't companies eventually fear making new games because there isn't millions of new audience every month.
That's what I am saying too. My next monitor will still be a CRT. Unless LCD price drastically drop to an identical price. The fact that every person I know who owns one experienced a fry tube is just horrifying. All that $$$ spent = high expectations.
Oracle - most overly complicated installation. I don't believe so many versions have come out, and the installation is still so chunky with so many pieces.
SQL server - IMHO this thing does NOT scale well. I don't know what others experienced.
MySQL - The best. Somehow I know of no company willing to deploy this at a mission critical level.
I don't know about this NetBSD logo. Out of all the unix flavors, whether you like the OS or not, Sun Microsystem still have the most intelligent logo.
The linux penguin looks so damn friendly. We need an elite-looking penguin symbol, like the Atlanta Falcons logo.
US old men have guns, and don't hesitate to use it.
China old men have guns, but don't need to use it.
A little off topic, but last I checked Hong Kong turned over to China in 1997 without a single shot fired. No wonder they can boss internet cafes around. Cause that's nothing in comparison.
Yeah I played the original GTA on PC way back. I was absolutely blown away by the fun factor. There is something about that overhead view that today's GTA should also incorporate. Only problem was the network portion of the game, which was simply aweful if you tried LAN play.
Actually NO! I own a miniPod, it's a fact that the batteries have a shorter and shorter life span as time goes on. Apple is denying this, but there are so many forums covering this problem.
For people like me who recharge songs and batteries at will, I have put the miniPod to the ultimate test. Half a year ago, a full recharge lasts 1.5x longer than it is today. At this pace, my battery is on track to go to hell.
Not to mention the iTrip looses frequency so easily when the adapter is unplugged. For the adapter, I would blame Griffin Tech instead of Apple. Either way, MiniPod has flaws everywhere. If this thing fried, I am switching to an iPod-killer brand.

Wouldn't surprise me if there really is a Bush-mod somewhere. Republican cheat... I mean....

If George Dubya is as smart as Hitler....
- Half of the middle east would already be in concentration camps.
- Oil prices would be $0.25 a gallon.
- Billions more americans would be unemployed. And they would be happy to see the draft come back, just so they can "do something with their lives".
- Dallas cowboys will have 5 stadiums to choose from.
- Bush family would have established drug companies in Canada, Mexico and beyond to profit from.
OMG I was reading this at work. I laughed so freaking hard, I think the entire office floor heard me.

Well you won't last that long cause your food will come with viruses.

No way. Only the linux penguin is cool enough for beautiful Mac women.

LOL, I know. What is up with the username password requirments. Anyone got an account to spare?
The only difference is...
US old men have guns, and don't hesitate to use it.
China old men have guns, but don't need to use it.

Wow when does George Dubya have time to post on slashdot.
