"The environmental issues we face today are the result of generations of incremental and seemingly insignificant choices made by billions of people - why should the solutions be any different?"
We have products designed to be used only once, that will last for freakin centuries.
And it's not just bags of course, bottles, and many other things that are mass-produced, used once or twice, and tossed where they will sit for millenia, and they probably won't be contributing to the environment to say the least.
It doesn't make any sense, except maybe short term economical sense, but the whole green movement is about investing in the long term health of the planet instead of raping it cause we can.
"I used to reuse the plastic bag as trash bag like everyone else."
Less people do than you think.
And the problem for me is I get way more plastic bags then I could possibly use for my trash cans (like double bagging a carton of milk for no reason), and I imagine this is common.
I think what I would stress is that she clearly was not educated on the matters of love and rejection.
She clearly had low self-esteem, and the 'boy' became her source of self-esteem.
When that died she was heartbroken, and must have thought 'the only boy i'll ever love wants me to die, so i might as well die.'
So obviously she did have self-worth issues, and unfortunately children are not often taught about love, they have to glean what they can from pop culture.
If she knew that millions get rejected every day...or had been taught a simple rule like 'you don't know if it's love until you can see it in their eyes'...maybe she wouldn't have been so hard on herself.
If you get hung up on the FISA thing, you don't understand political science.
This election is a battle for the soul of America, and effects the entire world. If Obama doesn't win, then McCain wins, and we step even farther away from civil liberties, and you lose even more than you were supposedly saving by rejecting Obama.
Period.
Change is slow, and we have 8 years of bullshit to undo. If you can't stand a few blemishes on your candidate, then you will never make the compromises necessary to achieve your end goals.
Jean Rasczak: All right, let's sum up. This year in history, we talked about the failure of democracy. How the social scientists of the 21st Century brought our world to the brink of chaos. We talked about the veterans, how they took control and imposed the stability that has lasted for generations since. We talked about the rights and privileges between those who served in the armed forces and those who haven't, therefore called citizens and civilians. [to a student] Jean Rasczak: You. Why are only citizens allowed to vote? Student: It's a reward. Something the federation gives you for doing federal service. Jean Rasczak: No. Something given has no basis in value. When you vote, you are exercising political authority, you're using force. And force my friends is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived.
I think there is a balance that is needed. A boring, rigid office will stifle interest and energy, but if it's too silly an office then it's hard to concentrate when the time is right.
Granted, I've never seen companies pay for daily muffins and stuff (i wonder how many aren't eaten?), but letting your employees have flex time usually lowers stress levels, especially for those with kids.
Rex: At Rex Kwan Do, we use the buddy system. No more flying solo. You need somebody watching your back at all times. Second off, you're gonna learn to discipline your image. You think I got where I am today because I dressed like Peter Pan over here? [points to Kip] Rex: Take a look at what I'm wearing, people. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it. Last off, my students will learn about self respect. You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? Forget about it!

Oooh, awesome line.
Maybe think of it this way.

You mean the genocide of the knights? Or when the knights were committing genocide against the Turks?
grinding is not the same thing as challenge.
You can have advancement that doesn't involve doing the same thing over and over again.
We once trained some Englishman to make iced tea.
They said 'we don't have that'
We said 'Brew some tea, and pour some freaking ice over it.'
Step one, instead of ass say buns, like kiss my buns or you're a bunshole
Step two, instead of shit say poo as in bull poo,
poo head and this poo is cold
Step three, with bitch drop the T cause "bich" is latin for generosity
Step four, don't say fuck anymore,
cause fuck is the worst word that you can say.
So Just use the word "mmmkay"
What is "the penis mightier" for $400!

Scroob/Sanders/Helmet: Thank you!! *wince*
that's not true...
'I hate all Elbonians and like to see them die.' is hate speech, but not slander.
'The Elbonian prime minister raped a goat' is not hate speech, but is slander.
'I hate that corrupt, mud-sloshing, goat-raping, Elbonian Prime Minister and wish I could shoot him' is both.
Facebook should have a 'don't tag me ever' option.

I agree with you so long as you mean dudes.
