It was a trade dress suit. And Apple would have won except that John Scully (aka Bozo) licensed the look and feel of MacOS to Microsoft specifically for use in Windows (in exchange for a magic bean!)
Most likely scenario (80% chance): Creative gets nowhere with this. They lose the case and it quickly becomes a non-issue after briefly causing a few people to worry and Apple's stock price takes a dip, then rebounds.
Next most likely scenario (15% chance): Apple settles with Creative for an "undisclosed sum" and this becomes a non-issue after briefly causing a few people to worry and Apple's stock price takes a dip, then rebounds.
Next most likely scenario (4.999% chance): Apple buys Creative and this becomes a non-issue after briefly causing a few people to worry and Apple's stock price takes a dip, then rebounds.
Very unlikely scenario (less than 0.001% chance): The sun explodes, causing a dip in Apple's stock price.
You are speaking of "Christians" as if they were some single monolithic group - and then not including the Pope who is the leader of the largest Christian denomenation on earth. Both parts of that are ridiculous.
You always see pictures of concept cars that look totally impractical. This is the same thing except that it is phones. Or like when Intel had a bunch of "concept computer cases" to show that PCs could look as nice as an iMac (this was right after the original iMac came out). The computers looked completely ridiculous and none of them were ever actually made.
OK, but how about if I create a scene in real life that is similar to what is on my computer screen. For example, if I want to post a screen shot of an error dialog, I could get a giant poster board and then write the error message on it and have someone hold it up while standing in front of something that looks like a computer desktop. Then, I could photograph that and post the photo.
Will the public remember John Madden in 2016? Are you sure they won't change the name of that series? I'm sure there will be football, but "madden", not so sure.
The CEO of my last company was black and he was a self made millionaire.
Yeah, but you say "if you are poor or a minority it is impossible to make it, even if you make the smartest choices possible." - Wrong.
I know lots of people who grew up poor and were able to do well in life. The hard part is that you have to make good choices as a child/young adult sometimes in spite of bad role models and bad parental advice in order to do this. It does not mean it is impossible.
If the game fits on one disk, there is no reason to compress it. If the game takes up more than that, you probably want to compress it. GPP spoke of a multi-disk game.
I saw this article several days ago. It was very interesting, but I don't think having the magnet implanted is ready yet for prime time. Apparently the magnet can break, it can also cause problems if the coating on it wears through. That said, it would be interesting to have an additional sense, but I wonder if it would hurt (after the surgical wounds heal). Probably not - I guess ear rings don't "hurt" after the piercing heals.
SCO is no longer based in Santa Cruz. The old SCO (or "SCO Classic" as some of us list it on our resumes) was quite a different operation. The SCO Group is based in Lindon, Utah.
Consumers are not leeches. If a company doesn't want to be in the business of selling to consumers, fine. But don't name call.
Also, it is interesting how all these "free market" people are the first to start complaining when things don't go their way. Wah, wah - the airlines need another bail out! Wah, wah, supporting our crappy and poorly designed products costs too much, please let us not honor our warranty! It is all the customer's fault that our shit doesn't work! Wah!
Fucking babies. They should have let the airlines that are poorly run just go under.
The computer industry has created a lot of jobs (not just Steve Jobs). The movie industry creates moral depravity.
The movie industry claims we are forced to choose: either kill technology innovation or the movie industry won't survive. My proposed message to the movie industry: don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I could care less if no more hollywood movies are ever made.

Reminded me of a news story
Mainstream "news" stories about science are notoriously short of facts and also are quite often incorrect.
I think that would be a "reproductive health clinic" and they do many other things besides perform abortions.

That's a pretty spurious argument.
That's funny, when I hear the word "stealing", I think of someone watching TV without paying much attention to the commercials.
By the way, my name is Jamie Kellner.
I would prefer to have them continue to kill any bill that allows Microsoft to riffle through my computer at will.
I think the real finding is that people who drink coffee constantly have no space in the bladder left to allow them to drink alcohol.

(It would be a lot of work.)
I'd be willing to bet on Madden 2016 too.
Will the public remember John Madden in 2016? Are you sure they won't change the name of that series? I'm sure there will be football, but "madden", not so sure.
That's called being in the right place at the right time - which RMS wasn't.
I'd love to get RMS's recipe book. Perhaps he will make an appearance on the Food Channel.
165,000 is a very small number.
Who forces you to live in New Jersey?

Does it take up more than 1 CD?

She's more consistant than most conservative politicians.
Here's a news flash for you. Ann Coulter is NOT a politician. She is a commentator.
Are you trying to tell me that Slashdot isn't the mainstream media??

Interesting, but creepy.
SCO is no longer based in Santa Cruz. The old SCO (or "SCO Classic" as some of us list it on our resumes) was quite a different operation. The SCO Group is based in Lindon, Utah.
I know that. It was meant as a joke.

Time to level the city of Santa Cruz!
