I have to say, I had an ibook g4 and it was wonderful. same thing, spilled water all over it, took it all over campus, trains, planes and automobiles etc. So when I sold it and bought a Macbook last summer I expected the same. By november the keyboard would lock up sometimes. By the end of the year the keyboard and trackpad would lock up and need a restart to fix. Then january arrived. No keyboard, no trackpad. Ever. I sent it to apple, came back still broken. Sent it again, same thing. One more time. Same thing. After 3 attempts, at the end of February now, They sent me a new Macbook. The trackpad has already become mostly unresponsive. This computer just sits at my desk or maybe on the couch with me (the first macbook had the same use). I can't even bring myself to call applecare. As soon as a new one is released I'll probably get rid of this one. Or maybe go back to windows. 2 months and 3 attempts before they got it right? And the new one is heading down the same path? They're close to losing a customer.
As demonstrated by Mr. LaForge, proper safety protocol when dealing with plasma is the same in the 24th century as today: stop, drop and roll under the door.
now that apple is using intel people want their windows software to work. i'd take dual boot as an option, though i would prefer to just run apps at native (or close to it) speed in "virtual pc for intel macs"
it was sitting in a trunk in the desert for 20 years.

the internet makes people think they can say anything. and/. is full of people who think they are right and the world is wrong. linux is not "better" than windows for today's definition of computing. Have you had a tour of Bose? they can build auditoriums where microphones aren't needed that seat thousands of people./. won't like this because it's a company that makes money providing good services.
ok, i use a radeon VE - no version of linux will even boot with it. windows has no problem. i like linux, heck, i think ibooks are pretty cool looking, but i NEED windows for certain stuff. and, not to be rude, but it's a windows world, and will be for quite some time:-/

Lithium fires aren't that dangerous. Just decompress the cargo bay and hang on to the laptop for dear life.
