I wonder if they will be as impartial as the Google news generator. The first two "most popular" articles on their service are the same one: Microsoft Tests Web News Service
Could this problem be solved with use of the "Warn" feature? Spimmers could change their screen name and keep spimming, but the warn feature could be changed to warn an IP? If it already does, just warn the spimmers and they won't be able to send out messages nearly as massively as email spammers.
The extreme (!) cost per pound to ship things by space shuttle would have to be dealt with before mining would be a possibility. Unless you're talking about mining the moon for use on the moon.
In his most recent book, he has long winded rants about the shrinking of the space available for comics. This quote was an example he hated of "throwaway gags" that are put into the first two frames of comics that can't have anything to do with the rest of the comic, because some of the newspapers wont allow room for these first two panels.
True, dot matrix receipt printers are still around, but the majority of credit card bills I have gotten, as well as the receipts from most supermarkets I've been in in the last five years have been printed with thermal printers.
Yes, but as time goes on, the older bills will be more uncommon and attract more of the acceptor's attention when you use them, making any imperfections in your counterfeit more likely to be noticed.
In addition to the reasons you listed why the Segway isn't that popular, its downright scary to drive one in close proximity to the oversized vehicles everyone else has.
IM, with some practice, has become my favorite means of communication. You need to learn how to word things so they convey your meaning, i.e. lay off the sarcasm and word things nicely. With IM, I enjoy being able to read what people tell me until I fully comprehend it and never have to ask anyone to repeat things. I also like the ability to talk to several people at once.
Schools have many different accounts set up to fund many different things. This is due to how donors donate money and specify that they want it to go toward a certian project or department. One department, say the CS department might have recieved donations from CS alumni. Also, having large projects like this can generate lots of revenue through grants.
I am getting a little bored of all the movies where there are two indestructible characters fighting. They fight anyway, but you know neither will get destroyed, whether its Terminators or Neo fighting Agent Smith. What's the point of it if neither will win? ( I know that terminators get destroyed, but never without some molten steel or a big press or large explosion. They never die by fighting)
IS this a potential security threat? If airline systems are so easily affected by a cell phone, surely a would-be terrorist could find something (a modified cell phone or laptop) to put out additional interference.
This will not suck any money from Microsoft. They are selling a copy of Windows that they otherwise would not have sold and are still making a profit. For each of these they sell they are making more money than if they had not sold them because the physical copy of windows is probably costing them $9 or so (my guess, not backed up with evidence) to copy and ship. Unlike the Xbox which costs them significant money to produce and they *lose* money on each sale until games are bought.
Which does Microsoft make more money on?
1. Selling Xboxes to people who are going to buy games and make them profit.
2. Selling Xboxes to people who are going to run Linux off them and make no money.
No. But, I would be impressed if you could find nth roots as fast or faster than your calculator. I am amazed that humans can still beat machines (sometimes) at a game such as chess.

A new namelike Claria to imply they are clear and honest is like Philip Morris' new name, Altria, to imply that they are altruistic. Neither are true.

When playing quake, using Ctrl for shoot, Alt for strafe, and del for looking downwards simultaneously! It has happened to me.
So you're saying it makes wasteful jobs while the people performing these jobs could be doing something more productive?
The price of the song on ebay is going to skyrocket. already at $20

Fortunately, out of court settlememts are not legal precedents.
Less intelligent? I'm sick of every game they make being point and shoot. Compare HL to Quake 3, or even RTCW. People don't want pure shoot-em-ups.
