    The company where I work has a clear policy - Casual personal usage of company resources for internet browsing is ACCEPTED.

    The systems/network are monitored for contents and DO NOT EXPECT PRIVACY while using company's network and system resources. Circumventing monitoring is not allowed and may be a reason for dismissal.!!

    Hell I don't care them monitoring my slashdot reading. :-)

    No they are not. Its just vague. When I said "file" it recognized it as "Wife". I had early seen a voice recognition s/w that was pretty cool with tons of ai features into it. I would dictate a page with almost about 70% accuracy - but it seems like MS has added its own shitty things into the "new" crap that guess incorrectly on its own without me saying/typing it.!!

DoubleClick is now branching out from the ad serving business into the SPAM business due to the fact that direct email marketing "is one of the few forms of Internet advertising that is thriving". Using DARTmail, you can now target your bulk mailings "based on profile data". I wonder which profiling data they're talking about. Perhaps, say, all the data they've been collectiong for years?"

    A guestimate of loss in the recent Goner Virus at one of my consulting company literally cost more than a million $. The whole organization network was clogged for more than 6 hours. Atleast in my discussion ( heated debate ) with one of our Winblows admin made him convince that there are problems with M$ bloatware. phew - some brainwashing.!!

    You are missing the point. Why you want Office to be gpl'ed ? Why not just someone come up with a version of Office that runs on linux ? I would definitely buy a legit copy. I think this very particular misconception is scaring people AWAY that they have to open up their code. I would be happy if I can get atleast 70% features of office on Linux. Just as I am getting an Oracle Server with some minor patches missing.!!
