What happens with all the nuclear waste? I say this problem will come up in 100 years just like everything else right? Space waste, global warming(incl. deforestation, carbon dioxide), those things that eat the ozone, and all the other crap that we just can't seem to plan ahead for but it's so obvious every time. hmph, humans....
I mean aside from the fact that it's fucking scary as hell that the government wants to do this, if all they are indexing is public information it sounds like they just want to become their own google with some intelligent AI thats supposed to look for specific sets of data. While morally questionable I don't thing there is any thing legally wrong about this (unfortunately)...
Fox Hunt(My personal favorite), Dragon's Lair, Psychic Detective, Nightrap...sure these games are kind of campy, but I think they're fun as hell. I want to see some more "interactive movies". As far as cinematics killing gameplay, if it's a game that doesn't need it (sonic, mario, a racing game) then as long as I can hit the start button and skip the video I don't really care. I guess I only care if they're wasting significant resources on making these things. Cinematics actually _add_ to gameplay in those interactive adventure games and RPGs, games with a heavy story. But I still wish they made some FMV games...
I think if nintendo is bringing the same innovative ideas to the console market that they first brought with handhelds. Consoles need a new gimmick in game design and this might just be the thing to bring life and innovation back to video games again.
There just hasn't been a good game magazine. Especially considering that I buy solely imports and there are no longer any magazines that offer reviews of any kind on import games. And import magazines are actually more annoying to purchase than the games in many ways...and they're not necessarily that great either. So really if I could get a band of people together and write something that actually sounds decent and has a nice layout for a game magazine I could be rich eh?
as a fellow moderator I think you guys really missed this one, how the hell could I get modded all offtopic? You know the point I was trying to make was that despite everyone saying bsd is dead it's not! And despite what the media industry's PR departments are frollicking around the web with these days, DVD is not dead either. See the connection? not offtopic! maybe it's not funny maybe it's a really stupid connection but for GOD SAKES MAN ITS NOT OFFTOPIC...jeez....
Don't forget that sattelite upgrade for the SNES in Japan and also the famicon disk system for the NES oh and also that crazy karaoke addon for the dreamcast, the broadband upgrade for dc. I think the only real successful upgrade was that RAM upgrade for the N64.
Honestly I will rarely spend money on an official dvd anymore if it's foreign. If it's not a US DVD I will probably just buy the Chinese bootleg for 1/4 the price and with _NO_ region code. What do the companies think they are gaining in this day and age by trying to restrict region access when we have portable dvd players everywhere, laptops all come equipped standard with dvd playback. If I travel to another country they don't want me to play a dvd there? The whole concept is a throwback to a time when instant dissemnation of information was impossible. The comnpanies are trying to maintain an artificial grip on the world's distribution system but in the process they are encouraging not only piracy but also organized crime and the people who own these huge illegal pirating operations throughout the world.
The difference now is that we are no longer paying for the cost of the media. Back then it cost a fortune to produce just the cartdriges then CDs came along and made things cheaper. Now prices are going up to make games "better" but somehow I don't believe spending millions on hiring good voice actors and adding flashy effects is what should be the focus of game design. The focus should be on the game itself and in some cases the story. Paying this much money for games that offer little to no actual gameplay value over previous titles is rediculous in my opinion.
While delaying games a million bazillion years (duke nukem forever) is no good, rushing games out isn't good either. With all the pressure put on everyone you never know what kind of bad things will happen later on...
While skype is closed source and maybe it's bad it also happens to be the best at what it does. And for most people that I know it's a "second tier" communication service (ok I made up the term but it sounds nice right?) basically people use AIM or MSN in additing to skype so switching from skype to another VoIP provider should be a piece of cake. Even more so if you only use skype to make outgoing phone calls to regular telephone #s. Until people start using skype and only skype, I can't imagine that it will ever take over completely anytime soon.
Well this was due to the fact that carts cost a shitload to make whereas CDs are dirt cheap.
well now that it's been posted to slashdot it will be even more interesting..hmm..
A real life chibi robo?

That's why you should only buy an Xbox 360 used

USB2 is faster in theory although in practice I doubt theres much difference something like 480mbps versus 400mbps

And so is bsd right?

Which web browser(s) do you use and why? and Are there any plans to release the sourcecode now that it's gone 100% free?
So will we soon be easily able to change these values in the OS in due time or what?
So what happens if I put a link to an mp3 that's hosted on another site? Do they cliam to own this as well?
Call me paranoid but how do I know these people aren't going to harvest my username and password?

Don't tell me I'm the only person that thought of the movie "Cube" reading this headline?? Maybe it's just too early for me
I know it's been said before but I'll say it again, one corporation having this much control over everything is just plain scary.

Well for me anyway

Interesting, and in China they only have 1 time zone for the whole country (Beijing Time)
