It doesnt invalidate his argument, since the basic thing (NAND / OR GATES) etc can be emulated in the quantum sphere, and probably on a larger scale, you could "emulate" processors in a quantum computer, or just go out and do something more natural as a new language, all he while keeping all the nice interfaces etc...
mexico has a close approximation in practice. The government tries to provide capitalistic incentives to accomplish its goals, such as building roads, sea ports, etc...
Oddly, there is little incentive to do this when they can build their infrastructure enough to make it so that the rich are extremely rich, and everyone else is poor with almost no middle class.
What happens in this situation? The workers flee to a place were they can get real wages, and social protections are in place because its a better place to live.
IF America went this route, were would our majority poor flee too? Canada? LOL.
Your actually very wrong. You cannot violate the constitution without violating the law. If a law violates the constitution, then you violated the law by following it, the law itself is unconstitutional and thus unlawfull. In a case were there is an obvious difference between what is stated by law, and what is stated by the constitution, the constitution always wins out.
They get different jobs. I dont know a lot of older programmers, but the ones that I have met were not in the best of jobs. I think it just happens to be how much effort they put into keeping up with new technologies.
What I would like is someone to make a simple interface like media portal but for the internet.
Whatever the media application is playing, regardless of how it is playing it, it will send the image and sound data over the net to some application.
ALso allowing to change channels etc... essentially just a nice little web front end. I have a TV card at home and I want to view it over the internet. I figured out how to do it with windows media encoder but the process is a tad combersome.
Fan Dubs suck, they suck very badly, and when I say very badly, I mean so spectacularly badly that one prays for an official dub.
Sure, the official dubs usually suck (with the exception of RahXephon) but at least your mind doesnt stop while listening or cringe in shock and horror.
Just go look for the Naruto fan dub out there, terrible, terrible, terrible.
Can you provide an example of a file that has 2 legitimate pre-images that hash to the same function?
IE,
Some text here
and
Some text there
That both equal the same hash?
Its similar to the Alice problem described, but what he has posted seems like a theoretical attack without any concrete examples to prove that it can even happen.
Though he does say he links to one such example, but is it practicle to do?
The main problem is it shouldnt be possible to have a functional CD image that matches the MD5 hash of a legit ISO.
Though... I guess if someone had the time they might be able to make something that IS like the regular image, tacks in some trojans, and then adds junk data to the ISO until it matches.
1 million dollars. If you give me 1 million dollars I will support your cause with the following exceptions.
1. I wont come to physical harm 2. I wont have loss of opportunity.
So, you can buy 90% of the free speech I may or may not choose to practice!
I think the rep party eyeballs it in the several hundred thousand dollars, being thats the cost to buy the opinion of a journalist, I am a bit more expensive though because I set my buy out price higher.
I really wish other people, you know the ones killing our soldiers in foreign countries, would agree with you.
Hell, if people only fought us because told them they could, things would be a hell of a lot easier.
Vint is supporting the president recently, so he is getting "paid" for it. The President is very kind to those who support him, hell, I heard once that he could get someone a job as a lead of a major organization with no previous work in the area of merit.
It doesnts top windows magnifier glass either to get zooming when you shouldnt. It also doesnt stop people from putting marker on their screen to be a weapons dot on games that dont have crosshairs.
It also doesnt stop people from using keyboards that have programmable macros, but you know, it has to stop somewhere, i cant visit your house and make sure you didnt get awsome with a sharpy.
People agree to this when they sign up for the service. This is the only method to stop cheating, and thats to be invasive.
The current top anti cheat for medal of honor allied assault is a third party program that makes the warden look like a freaking panzy on what it does.
It checks memory to verify there are no spyware signatures, verifies all files before they run, locks the files, runs its own explorer shell so that a person cant alt tab and run things. The game can only be executed within the context of the anti cheat software, the hardware is checked to make a key that can be bannable even if the person re-installs or reformats.
It locks the memory of itself, and the MOHAA software.
Even at that point it isnt good enough, it also launches two other executables with similar protections built in that check each other to make sure that none of the executables is being shut down or altered by an outside program.
People have to agree with this, because nothing else works, if you slip in one area, they write a cheat to exploit it. You slip in another area you get a cheat in another area. If you dont validate all files, even files with odd extensions, they write a kernal thingy that goes around it.
Cheaters have too many dedicated fucktards trying to ruin the games for everyone else.
When you sign up for World OF WarCraft, or use another type of anti cheat, you are saying that you agree to this kind of thing because you want to participate.
In sports, umpires can watch the players and make sure that they arent cheating, in on-line games the umpires have to get right on the computer. AS LONG as those people only use information required to successfully stop a cheater (IE they arent going in and finding out what programs you have installed in your registry and uploading your outlook e-mail book etc...) then what is their to complain about?
All of the stuff where it scans the URL of web sites, and views peoples MSn etc.. thats all tertiary to what its doing. It is scanning those because it is showing up as open windows processes, there is nothing for the anti cheat program to use to determine that the open windows ARENT cheats, until it checks there names to see if it matches the signature.
I dont think people realize just how clever cheaters can be. One of the cheats turned in for MOHAA involved using a bug with MSN and video drivers for ATI. If a notification was up, you could see through the walls!
Then people wonder at the lengths anti cheat software is beggining to take.
Its not falsifiable, you can never prove it wrong, its faith. You cant PROVE it either.
The fact that you cannot prove something, does not make another thing you cannot prove true.
Evolution deals more in generalities, it is postulated that humans evolved through a series of events because genetics and bones etc... help us come to that conclusion.
How evolution created the eye, or even a cell for that matter, is still a part of the mystery, and if someone could make an example cell from parts then that would help on the way of showing that some random event could have as well.
The main difference is that if someone did come up with a theory for the development of eye cones in humans, then other scientists could take that model, scrutinize it, and determine whether it would or would not work.
Even if it was accepted for 20 years, scientists could come back at a later time and with new information find out that i was wrong using new techniques and knowledge.
Since ID is a non falsifiable, and non provable philosphy (without a time machine, or the ability to meet God) it simply cannot hold up, since you cannot assume something is irreducibly complex, or meets any of the other ID specific buzz words.
Because all of the buzzwords are subjective. If we wanted to find out if something was "irreducibly complex" 100 years ago, then many of the things we know of now would be moot.
Go back further predicting how the sun and such moves accross the sky accurately may have been irreducibily complex, with the knowledge of the time.
Of course, intelligent design must have been popular because of that, because people beleived in a SUN God back then.
So, even though ID has been popular since the dawn of man, doesnt make it science.
Even though this is funny, there is a trilogy called the "nights dawn" trilogy which noted that the earth could overheat just from the waste heat given off by all of the appliances and energy being pumped into the atmosphere every day.
You have hit the reason, it is because of the ghosting on the edges of objects that gamers want the better response times.
Take a game like medal of honor were a character may blend partially into the background, with a sharp monitor at a high refresh rate the person can be seen far away (very few pixels) but not well on an LCD, this can mean the difference between being killed or being alive when on-line, and some people are quite willing to pay the extra to have the ability to see some game character a long way away while moving quickly.
It gets better, I was recently hired because I put some effort in getting to know people around me. Get out and get into things that will help you meet people in the industry, and impress them, I have a job because of someone I knew, not because my resume was spanky.
If Defendant == "Ebay":
win(Defendant)
else:
applyRules(case)
I pay taxes on that, it aint free!

Just when is the issue, when...
It was as if a Million Geeks cried out in terror and then were silenced.

And Samurize came out before Konfabulator!

If you have read the greatwinter trilogy you would know the Norwhals are just waiting for the day to broadcast the Call to kill humanity.

It can be done in one, move the far A value in JAXA to the front to spell AJAX

I actually keep an encyrpted folder, using a little cryptography tool i found, on my USB drive for just such information.
And I have a backup of the files on gmail, encrypted, so that i can get to them easily from there.
It doesnts top windows magnifier glass either to get zooming when you shouldnt. It also doesnt stop people from putting marker on their screen to be a weapons dot on games that dont have crosshairs.

With all of the athiest anti intellectuals in the United States trying to crush science to save their beleifs, i see your point.
