I think the only thing that can stop this shit is a popular revolution. Look at Georgia. The government was corrupt, the people rose up and toppled it. From what I've heard it was nonviolent as well. It will take similiar action here for this to be stopped.
Unfortunatly, if you rise up against the US Government, you are a terrorist, and such a movement would likely be crushed by the military, which is mostly right-wing. A guerilla war against the government and popular uprising would be required.
The article doesn't say how SHUILIU0011 stole the items. Did the guy use a decent password on his account, or was it some kind of crack that the thief used? However, you'd think they have some method of restoring the items if he could prove they were stolen by another user.
Will the moderator please post as AC and explain why this is Flamebait? Because it has "Muslim" and "torture" and "US" in the same post? If you read the entire post and think about it before you moderate, then you will realize that it is an attempt to point out abuses of the US legal system.
As for you on the right, it DOES NOT condone terrorism. It simply points to an article that shows how a innocent person was tortured by Syrians due to the idiocy of US authorities.
Tran gets an 18-month suspended sentence and a $5,000 (Australian) fine. Ng got an 18-month suspended sentence and 200 hours community service. Le was only given community service. Needless to say the Australian record industry is complaining the three should do time, which could have meant five years behind bars.
"CNN is reporting that the Policy Analysis Market is set to return, albeit without futures on 'violent events,' and without DARPA or other government involvement.
Yeah, right. I'm absolutely certain that DARPA and other government agencies will stay out of this project, just because they say so.
I went through the drive-through, and the total came out to around $10 + some change. Not wanting to break the $20 bill I had (a new one) into a five and ones, I found the correct change and feed the computer the $20 and the change. The computer did not comprehend this input, however, and a human had to intervene by helping the computer count the proper change. The human assistant, however, still got the change wrong, as I received a five, five ones, and a dime back. I still don't understand why neither the human or the computer could figure that one out.
The computer model was human high-school female type, and the human assistant was a manager.
Why are they "so-called ATAPI drives"? Was it a problem with the drives not having a standard ATAPI interface? Or is this just FUD by the submitter? I know that there was problem, but if the drives truly are standard ATAPI then why inject the "so-called" comments?
1. Find the latest anti-FS/Linux FUD story that has quotes from Microsoft exec.

4. Accepted!!
5. Sit back and watch as the flames fly!!
You have to consider the fact that Linux users are usually far more technically minded, and probably have more money and be more willing to give their support, regardless of their wealth. That user base is still far less than the Windows user base, so while your numbers are probably correct, they fail to consider the number of users for each OS.
Or does that article site seem like a scam in itself? I counted 5 ads from doubleclick (all blocked by privoxy) and another set of sponsored links at the bottom. With all the rhetoric designed to inflame linux users, it is sure to make money for them if it gets enough hits (thus getting put on/. benefits them greatly...).
Yeah, it's a good thing everybody agreed on American indepe\ndence. Imagine how things would have went if some people would have been sympathetic to the king.
Actually, according to most historians, a large number of colonists (up to 33% in some figures) were Loyalists (loyal and willing to fight for King George). Another large portion of the population was unwilling to fight for either side or would only support the army that was in their backyard at the time. Only a small number of people actually supported the Revolution. We did have a large outburst at the beginning, known as the "rage militare" (sic), but a number of these were sunshine patriots and left when things started going bad.
A short history lesson for you today, but then again you might have been sarcastic in your post.
Perhaps they could even receive a copy or two (or fifty;-) of the documents listed here."
Please do not spam these people with 50 11MB files. If each member of the slashdot crowd even sends one copy, their mail servers will be overwhelmed and our efforts will be ignored. Perhaps someone can print paper copies to send to them?

How will this be enforced? The global nature of the Internet seems to be unmanagable by a single government.

For some reason I thought the Nigerian scams were 911, but it is actually 419. Sorry about that.
I guess so... You would think that people would be more aware of this kind of thing now.

They might have been extradited to Syria for torture.

More like insightful or interesting to me... Or a better mod would be +5 Scary.

Probably a good deal on ebay. Looking on there now, they go as low as $54 before shipping, but he might have found one lower at the time.
Interesting... May I ask what was the total cost after you added everything?
