Sounds like you are better off with Linux or some other free OS/platform.
I don't think Apple ever really did care about the consumer. Apple makes products that it thinks are awesome; it certainly doesn't care whether the consumer thinks it's awesome. As far as I know, Apple has always been like this.
It's worked for me so far. I love my Apple products -- my iBook, iPhone, MacBook Pro, Apple TV. They've made life easier for me and given me far more enjoyment and entertainment than other products have.
Sure, I like free and open software and hardware as much as the next guy, but if a great product that suits all my needs comes along that is not free and not open, them I'm still going to use it.
I'm not going to pretend that Apple products are for everyone, and it certainly sounds like it isn't a good fit for you. You're a tinkerer, and in most respects Apple's philosophy does not play well with tinkerers.
There are usually plenty of other companies and manufacturers who make more open products. For my needs and wants, these products are usually not as good as the ones made by Apple.
How is this dumb? I think it's going to be great. It's innovative, creative and fun. Something Microsoft could use a little more of these days.
Sure, it's good for a laugh and you're obviously not going to be using it to make Oscar-worthy soundtracks, but it'll surely sell as a fine piece of home entertainment.
The ad is intentionally lame and cheesy; that's how these MS ads tend to be. I'm an Apple fan and I say good on MS for bringing a product like this out. I hope it succeeds. It's like an all-night karaoke and drinking session -- nothing serious, just pure fun.
Which Cinema Displays have you got? I haven't heard of any ACDs giving trouble with PCs... I use my 20" ACD just fine with my desktop PC. Most of the time it's hooked up to my MBP though.
I'm sure your military and police forces do employ sniper rifles. Unless you don't have a military or police force, which would be quite exceptional.
And I would argue that your safety and comfort depends on all of these things: intelligence, education, leadership, social justice, as well as the ability to defend yourself and others with lethal means.
That means your married friends are wussies, like the majority of men. Either they didn't choose their woman correctly in the first place or (more likely) they just wussed out after marrying and became more and more wimpy -- in popular culture, this is known as being "pussywhipped".
Women despise wussbags, and will withhold sex as her attraction to the man drops and she becomes more and more resentful. Men need to learn what pushes women's attraction buttons.
Getting married is not a license to slack off and get complacent.
The best one I found was DSLibris. I haven't touched it in over a year since I bought my iPhone, but it was a rather good app. DSLibris only supports XHTML format, but that's pretty much the norm.
Since when is the LCD of the MacBook Pro any better than that of the MacBook? They both use the cheap, nasty TN film panels that show dithered colours.
One thing that bugs me is that AFAIK, you can't click both buttons on the Mighty Mouse at the same time -- this is a deal-breaker for many games. Does anyone know a solution for this, other than not using the MM?
I like the form factor of the wireless MM for travel purposes, but apart from that I never really use it as my primary mouse.
I played Dreamfall before I played TLJ. Strangely enough, I couldn't understand what people loved so much about TLJ. To me, Dreamfall was a much better game, despite the crappy UI. And I didn't even have to know the background story to enjoy Dreamfall -- the game explains itself quite nicely.

Oh, and you obviously don't know Gates. He's be all for a product as goofy and light hearted as this.
It's someone like Steve Jobs who wouldn't approve of Songsmith.

You got modded Funny, but you speak the truth.
Hell, yes.
Hello? The world doesn't consist of only the US and the UK!
Well said. Forgiving is not at all about forgetting.
Justice isn't at all about ignoring past crimes.
Talk about dilution of responsibility!
The arguments you make are exactly the reason why people get away with these kinds of crimes.
Their actions are understandable but not excusable by any means. They should be charged and punished for their crimes.
Yes, the officers are guilty as hell, but so are the enlisted men and women.

It runs on either the iPod touch or iPhone, so it's not as expensive as you think.
Also, iPod touch/iPhone runs native applications (acquired via the online App Store), not just web applications.
As for easier to program, not sure. Apple uses Objective-C for the iPod touch/iPhone platform.
It doesn't. If you go back to being a "nice guy", she will give you the cold shoulder soon enough.
Not that that means it would be better to be an asshole.
Be a real man with integrity and backbone instead. The best of all worlds. Women will love you.
You have to be consistently excellent -- you can't just put on an act, then fall back to some wussy, wimpy old self.
The main reason people fall for scams is because they are greedy.
As the wise old adage goes, "You can't scam an honest man."

I thought I was the only one who wakes up to find spiders on his face in the middle of the night. WTF. I wonder why they do that?
I think you forgot to login.
That is so damn wrong. I hope you never design user interfaces.
Consistency is key, and changing a user's password, especially transparently, totally wrecks consistency and user expectation.

I think "ignorant" is the word you're looking for, not "idiotic". There's no need to be insulting someone for an honest mistake.
Mod parent up.

Sounds like some random bullshit that the poster made up. I've been using iTunes since 2003 and have never heard of this happening.
Dreamfall wasn't an unplanned sequel. Tornquist plans to make 3 parts, with the 3rd part available in episodic format apparently.
He also says that he feels Dreamfall had the better story, which I agree with. TLJ was a lot more disjointed than Dreamfall.

I'm looking forward to Part 3.
