You're forgetting the license fee they get for each game sold for the XBox also.

Ultimately, XBox gaming (if they make a profitable console next time around) will be much better for Microsoft than PC Gaming ever was.

The problem wasn't that it was accepting mail that looked like that, it was that when reading the email that contained the faulty send line, it would read past the end of the "From" line looking for the matching >, which could result in a sort of buffer overflow that would read into other people's messages.

You need to actually look at the message you sent in the GMail interface to see if it has been fixed.

As for your other comments about IE, if you do a Ctrl-N or File->New->Window, the two instances of IE are in the same process. If you simply launch IE from an icon you will get two seperate processes. As for how this affects sharing of cookies, your guess is as good as mine.

    Insightful? Give me a break.

Yeah, I'm sure that eBay and Amazon want to make sure they limit all of their customer base to only those people running a brand new OS. Sure.

And in case you didn't realize, the system you are describing is already built into Windows XP. It's name? Microsoft Passport. You can tie your Windows account directly into your Passport account so you don't have to login. Look how well that's worked.

Please, try to learn a little more about what you are talking about before making some stupid comment. Of course, if you're after karma, all you need to do is say something conspiratorial about M$ and you'll be fine.

The PSP doesn't support AVI, it supports the UMD movie discs. It doesn't appear yet that you are going to be able to play your own movie content.

However, Nintendo is releasing an add-on for the DS and GBA SP that will allow for playing of custom video and audio content that looks to be around $50.

I'm still curious as to how much the PSP is going to cost in the US. As mentioned at the bottom of this article that appeared earlier on Slashdot, they said a straight conversion of the price from Japan would be around $460. I'm not sure how accurate that is considering I kept hearing that the price in Japan would convert to around $185 in the US.

Your statement kind of sounded like you were saying .NET code doesn't need to be JIT'ed to run in Windows 2003 which ain't true.

In the opening scene when one of those tiger aliens (can't remember their name for the life of me right now), makes this gesture like he's grasping something in mid-air, and he says something about having something in his hands, my machine would choke and he would make the motion a few seconds before saying the line.
