We all know that if anyone makes any attempt to challenge any Post-September 11 legislation, they are anti-American, anti-patriotic and of course support and sympathize with terrorists.
Just a matter of time before you're accused of being a sponsor of terrorism. Unless I'm mistaken, the ship that the Israelis intercepted which was laden with arms for the Palestinians apparently was from Iran. Somehow, you can be implicated in sponsoring terrorism.
If this guy succeeds, it'll only be a matter of time before 'some' governments make it illegal to attempt any rocket jumping. With the billions of dollars of equipment flying overhead, I don't think they will allow anyone to get up there. And also, it's actually quite dangerous out there. The last thing we need is some wacko releasing a tube of bolts and BBs out there. Ever see what a small drop of antifreeze will do to a satellite while travelling at Mach 25. (Hint: Wireless service outage)
Twice as big as a jumbo jet and soaring twice as high, they may soon be deployed to guard Canada and the United States, scanning for intruders on the Pacific Northwest's long coastline and international border.
To guard against attacks? How is this going to prevent a determined person from putting a truck bomb in front of a federal building, or preventing someone from flying another plane into a building after coming up with yet another ingenious way of taking control of the plane.
When was the last time the US had a missile coming from across the oceans to strike them? NORAD detects just about everything airborne, so they'll know if they're under attack. However this will do nothing to stop someone sitting at the end of a busy airport with a shoulder launched SAM and take out a couple planes.
This is just another ridiculous idea to give the American people a false sense of security. Now don't get me wrong. There may be some merit in these ideas, but I just don't see them. Can someone please enlighten me?
It's just a matter of time the network embed the adds within the programming itself. If people constantly skip through the ads, they will scroll the bottom of your screen. Notice how networks now put that annoying logo in the bottom right corner of your screen. Discovery, TLC and History channel have recently been putting huge adds for upcoming programs there. It's just a matter of time before you start seeing commercials for other stuff there. You can't stop it.
You just do it with an old 6 gig drive or something small. But no way in hell I'll opening up a new big harddrive to see the platters spin and heads move. I'll kindly wait till Maxtor makes one with a window for me.
If only the world would protest. What's the point of high speed broadband access if you can't use it to full potential without having to start selling organs to pay the bills?"
Because much like the majority of people here and all over, they're too lazy. People have gotten way too complacent. No one wants to write an actual letter or stand outside and complain. It's easier to send a three line email or make a phone call from your chair and consider your part done. Let people actually move a muscle and stuff may get done. In the mean time, no use complaining.
AOL owns the servers, they pay for the bandwidth and they obviously make some money off the advertisements. So why on earth would they let someone come in with a program to compete with theirs and them not get that advertisement money.
Let's see you invest millions in the servers, databases, bandwidth and have some other company come and use it with you getting compensated....Please
It's not a rumor. You are right. I saw it on The History Channel a while back. They shipped printers to some countries in the Middle East which had the transmitters embedded in them. Their rational was that if there was a printer, then there would be a computer nearby and a possible target.
Hahahahaha. That's too funny, but on a different note, Napster's refusal to die was a good thing. While Napster was being beaten senseless and was the primary target for many, that gave all the other replacement P2P programs enough time to flourish. So in a sense, Napster was drawing fire long enough for the others to get up and running.
But like you said, it's time has come. It needs to cut this nonsense out and just die already as it has already served its purpose.
Get a computer with a huge amount of hard drive space as an nfs server and have a really powerful diskless workstation to do your stuff. Keep all information on the server pgp encrypted a few times over and work from a RAM drive on the client. When the feds come, just turn of the client and tell them to go to hell.:)
You may want to start keeping your old hardware; both computer and stereo. It will be a matter of time before all hardware has questionable
"capabilities" built in and it would be illegal to manufacture/import/buy items that don't contain these "features".
Better keep your old hardware so when shit goes nuts, you will be grandfathered in.
We all know that if anyone makes any attempt to challenge any Post-September 11 legislation, they are anti-American, anti-patriotic and of course support and sympathize with terrorists.
The Supercomputing Center for benchmarking and other testing? "Other" huh?
Can this be some new hardware for the National Missile Defense that Bush is building over in Alaska?
The Buttered Toast Array?

Wouldn't the provider be at risk, not the receiver?
Really? Try buying an item you know is stolen. If the feds want to get you, they'll find a way to do so.

Hahaha! At first glance, I thought it said "Anus" Inside. Hahaha.. Oh never mind.

Wine huh? Bullshit!!! With a name like yours, for some reason, wine doesn't come to mind. I'm more thinking St.Ides, Crazy Horse and shit like that. :)
Hey, look on the bright side. You may not be able to go into space, but hell, you are a definite candidate for president.

Would be really if they could have completely transparent concrete.

before all hardware gets tainted.

I couldn't agree more. Someone did a similar experiment and the results were amazing.

That has to be (Old) Utopia. It's too close to New Utopia to be a coincidence.
Here's the link for the Blaster.
