They already pay taxes on what they buy to re-sell
Actually, resellers do not have to pay taxes on stuff they purchase to sell to someone else. I think the idea is that sales tax should only be paid on an item once, by the final purchaser.
3. quietly ban, drop or otherwise lose the 5% of horrible users who take 95% of the bandwith
Those 5% who are the ones called on to give their opinions regarding which ISP to use? The 5% who will NEVER reccomend Comcast if there is any other alternative?
Want to play movies from your iPod on your TV? You've got to buy a special Apple-branded connector ($49).
The iPod was made as a personal portable media player not as a DVR. So if you want to use as such, you have to buy an accessory from Apple or a 3rd party (Belkin, Monster, etc).
It is different, because up until the last iPod refresh, any three-conductor a-v cable would work. You had to cross your wires and not match the color coding of the wires to the sockets, but it would work. When Apple released thier latest iPods, the put something in to scramble the video output so that the generic cables wouldn't work. The Apple cable (and authorized - read licensed) has a chip in it to descramble it.
To me, that's like Apple scrambling the audio output and requiring you to purchase their 'official' unscrambling headphones to listen to your music.
Wow - Apple must be distributing a different version of iTunes in Europe
In the 'American' version that I use, you can turn the store and the annoying 'links to the iStore' in your library. It's in your preferences under General and Parental.
Don't like it? Don't use it! But don't spout obviously incorrect 'facts' about it!
Actually they are not 'right' and 'left', they are 'primary' and 'secondary'. However, they are commonly referred to as right and left - but that's typical in a right-hand dominated society.
Even Wikipedia avoids the sidedness distinction in an article about contextual menus and this one specifically about mice.
...oh, wait, that was just the good dream I had last night.
Good dream and John Dvorak in the same sentance? I guess you have had too much espresso.
Microsoft now has 100% of the desktop market

Going To Boot Camp

· Score: 5, Funny
I'm just waiting for Microsoft to come out with a press release saying that now that Mac's can boot Windows XP they now own 100% of the desktop marketplace.
That will be followed shortly by a law suit against apple for not including XP on every Mac sold.
How many/.ers have iPods that they wish could use Napster or a competing music store to purchase songs with different rights or improved quality?
Just a guess, but I'd say "none".
If you want different rights or higher quality - go purchase the CD with all it's full quality digital glory and full rights.
If you are purchasing from iTunes, it's either because you are willing to sacrifice quality or rights - you KNOW that when you purchase it. Most find it an acceptable 'cost' for the convenience - some do not. Those that do not, do have other options.
Apple (1.33 GHz) 17" Powerbook - $139.99
Apple (1.50 GHz) 17" Powerbook - $95.99
Fortunately I did some digging before I ordered to figure out that the two machines use the exact same memory and ordered the cheaper of the two. How many people don't realize that they are paying $44 more than they need to?
I can understand using different 'external' part numbers for statistical tracking purposes, but they should all come out to the same 'internal' part number and price in the end.
What if the only place to get music was at your local Best Buy and that just about every other outlet sold orders of magnitude less.
You mean kind of like Wal-Mart in the U.S? They capture 10% of all cd sales and have the clout to demand a sanatized version of the lyrics, song titles and cover art?
iTunes often caries both versions a song and even shows 'racy' versions of videos should you choose to watch them. Image that - choice. What will they think of next?
WV has a bad reputation, and story URLs like that are not going to help
piece of mind = 2 cents
peace of mind = priceless

Sounds like a winning plan to me!

Nope. Not me.
People are too bloody sensitive these days.
Actually, according to Apple it can hold four drives.
Not agreeing or disagreeing with your other points, but that one was wrong.

Believe me, any one who is getting 'it' is paying for 'it' one way or another.
Actually, we've tried that - and look where we are now.
Maybe we should try something different - like education.
I hope I spelled everything correctly!

You are in luck! You can do that very thing easily using smart playlists.
Any questions?

I was going to write a long reply to this, but in doing some research to provide links, I came across this Wikipedia article.
Specifically the section on Social Development.
While you are there, look at logical fallacy specifically biased sample.
Finally, I suspect that you already knew all this.
they (two home schoolers) were both socially inept
There will always be socially inept people - regardless of their educational background. The fact that these two were home-schooled is not relevant.
iPod mini $199
- 4 GB storage
- 18 hours battery life
Dell Axim X50 $269- 64MB SDRAM/64MB Flash memory
- 8 hours 43 minutes battery life
iPod $299- 20GB storage
- 12 hours battery life
That doesn't include the $72 you add for the 1GB flash card. Cheaper than an iPod? I don't think so.It's still like that.

- Iraq - ~16,000
- Sudan - somewhere between 7,000 and 300,000 depending on who you ask
Oh, Sudan is in Africa, so I'm not sure why you mentioned a country and it's continent. But, you know what? Death happens. Approximately 158,000 times a day.
I got hit more than once..and that stuff *hurt*, but it never killed me
Are you sure?
How in the world does he type on this thing?
From TFA Bluetooth built in for keyboard and mouse when needed.
For reference, see this page at Apple.com.
Actually, almost every show that I'm interested in (CSI's, JAG, NCIS, + more) is available in HD on Bittorrent.
Yeah - that way if something happens to one file, ALL of your settings for EVERY application are hosed. What a great idea!
