I agree that native widgets would be wonderful from a user standpoint
Yes and no. Native widgets under linux and windows would be fine, but under OSX it sucks. It sucks because OSX doesn't allow changing the color of widgets.
It's really annoying to have a giant blue pill stick out on a page.
How dare you insinuate that our CEO was gainfully employed! He was homeless and living in the sewer! The only reason he worked for worldcom is because two old guys made some sort of wager which entailed our homeless CEO trading places with an executive.
I see that you are trying to emulate SCO! Would you like me to help you: A. File a frivolous lawsuit B. Issue a flamebait press release C. DOS attack your own site
I'm a pretty mellow person and I've been known to toss the controller across the room when the game didn't make me too happy. Then again, I did the same thing to a model when I was trying to get the joystick in the cockpit.
So you threw a woman across the room because you were having trouble having sex with her?
Oh.. I thought you meant a different kind of model, joystick, and cockpit.
Why, I remember, way back in... musta been ninteen hunderd and nintety four - when I played a game called XCOM. It displayed soldiers and aliens in an isometric format, and just about everything could be blown up.
I'll see your 1994 and raise you 13 years. 1981, Castle Wolfenstein. It was 2d overhead map, but you could use grenades to blow up walls.
You could also hold up the guards and steal their stuff.. then kill them.
This isn't really news. When I was in highschool (over 10 years ago) we refered to the crosswalk buttons as "Idiot buttons", because they didn't actually do anything, and you look like an idiot pushing a button instead of just waiting for the light to change.
The point of DeCSS is single fold, to decrypt commercial DVDs.
I hope you're not implying that that is illegal. We have a deal with a local news station to take their news broadcasts and put them on the web. We wanted to use a TiVoDVD to make this easy. Unfortunately, TiVo creates CSS'd dvds.
We ended up just using Quicktime Broadcaster and Darwin Streaming Server.
The good news is, we've got a TiVoDVD in the office that isn't doing anything... time to put it to nefarious use.

For 3mb down/384 up Cox charges only 199/mo, business account. At least here in phoenix.
That's really odd, because I have residential cox and according to the bandwidth calculator in All Seeing Eye, I have 1.5mbits down and 1 mbits up.
At least here in Tucson.
Not that I'm proposing IP-over-water-pipes or anything...
Personally, IP into water pipes.
Primaries, mail-in ballots, an all-night draw poker game among all interested candidates, or simply drawing a name out of a hat?
Ah, I see you're familiar with the Iowa Caucus.
American's only vote when it matters.. like who's going to be the next American Idol.
That said, I would pay to see Simon tell Bush how much he sucks.
How dare you insinuate that our CEO was gainfully employed! He was homeless and living in the sewer! The only reason he worked for worldcom is because two old guys made some sort of wager which entailed our homeless CEO trading places with an executive.
Now take it back!
I see that you are trying to emulate SCO!

1. ???
2. ???
3. Profit
Woah, wait a minute, are you saying step 3 is profit?!
For someone who works in a games store, you appear to be way out of the loop.
Who said he worked at a games store? For all we know, he works at Bed Bath and Beyond.
My store hasn't received ONE Gamecube system since mid-December when we sold out during the holiday.
Maybe that's because you haven't ORDERED any? Gee, that couldn't be it, could it?

Games like Star Wars, Tron, Elevator Action, and Spy Hunter were like nothing else available at home.
I really believe that I should own like 40% of the company that made Elevator Action given the amount of money I spent on that game.
I find a tape adapter and the passenger seat works just fine.
Somehow I don't think that's a viable solution in a discussion about audio quality.
So use a different media player. Like Winamp.
Recent versions of Redhat don't come with the ability to play mp3s at all. That doesn't mean I can't play mp3s on my redhat box.
Why would you have an mp3 player that's not an iPod?
Because I have a car. Until Apple makes an indash iPod I'm not going to be using AACs anytime soon. I'll stick with my kenwood indash mp3 player.
By this time next year, we'll be watching Gauntlet: The Movie.
Blue Wizard is Dying!
Pale Nerd needs Popcorn!
That's what Linux needs! Proper support for embroidering!
It would also meet the license requirement. Every "pixel" would be a little X. The refresh rate sucks though.
why do you think many of the windows 2000 folks upgraded to XP? because it had a shiny happy interface.
I upgraded my wife's computer to XP for many reasons, and the interface wasn't one of them.
First, all of her old games don't work under win2k, but they work on XP.
Second, her scanner and cdburner don't work correctly under win2k, but work on XP.
Drivers and application support are better reasons to upgrade to XP than the interface (which my wife just finds confusing)

If it's an FPS it's easy enough to introduce shakes to make the game harder.

There's a gamepad attachment for the Sony Clie. It comes pretty close to the NES gamepad. It's perfect for the Palm GB emu.
What's wrong with their classic arcade ports?
I just picked up Midway's Arcade Treasures for the gamecube.. it seems pretty sweet to me so far.. including the 4 player gauntlet.
The best version of Gauntlet Dark Legacy was released for GameCube in a limited release. It sold out within months and was never re-released.
Cool. I picked this up at Best Buy about 6 months ago for $15.
