It's funny you mention floppies.... A couple of weeks ago I bought a USB to serial port converter. It came with a driver that small enough to fit on a floppy disk, but it was on a full sized CD. CD's use an ISO format, not FAT for their filesystem. It's just a shame though. It seemed like a HUGE waste of space.
You kids and your fancy auto-dial modem whatzitz.... Back in my day, the modems didn't have a command set. They didn't even do the dialing. You had to pick up the phone yourself, listen for a dial tone, dial the number yourself (yes, on a REAL ROTARY DIAL), listen for the carrier, then FLIP THE SWITCH!!! (D00d, I'll be up all night to flip the switch if you decide to call)
It didn't matter how good the porn was when you got it, you were just grateful there were no CRC errors.
It's not only natural, it's a good thing! (Before you flame, let me explain.) Everyone loves Debian, and wants it to be as secure as possible. Right now, it's pretty secure, but there are always rogue hackers that will work feverishly to break into a system. This is good. It forces the hackers to THINK (more thinking is always good), and be creative. If a system gets compromised, the break in can be analyzed and better security can be developed. This causes the developers to THINK. How can all this thinking be a bad idea? It causes the software to evolve in order to survive.
Whoa there just a minit, chief! The report says the UNIX systems FAILED, not crashed. You can have a hardware failure no matter what kind of operating system you were running. Even the most stable UNIX systems are vulnerable to hardware failures.
The gangs can *TRY* to extort money, but in the long run, it would be cheaper to hire consultants or better administrators. This will have the effect of IMPROVING security worldwide. Thanks European gangs!
The fact is that good documentation is hard to write, and no one likes doing it. That is why people write documentation for pay.
*GOOD* documentation is hard to write, but it seems that the truth is that *DEVELOPERS* don't like to do it. They have already written a fantastic (or spectacularly bug ridden) piece of code, and the added work of writing documentation seems superfluous. Unfortunately, there are few others who are qualified to write documentation who would know the software as well as the delveloper. (At that time). This could be why it sometimes takes YEARS before there is good documentation - it takes that long for someone willing to write the DOCS to learn the software.
That SOUNDS like a good idea.... but I see it as leading to a lopsided article. Sort of like what the nightly television news programs do: "Something happened today that affects you and your family. Find out what it is tonight at 10."
Then it turns out to be a story about an increase in property tax for homeless people.
Didn't the Fantastic Four have a jet like this?
You would think that the red and green celophane would screw up the appearance of Qix....
Incoming message from APPLEDRAGON: --> D00d! go to XTALK!! I have some warez that will fill up your hard drive!!!!

If you're going to copy your friend's Ferrari one atom at a time, you better start now....
Hey, *MY* key to your garage door is also a 6" half-pound chunk of rebar! There's no point in both of us carrying one around...
Just leave it at the edge of the driveway, I'll find it.

Watch Office Space? Why would I want to do that? I *LIVE* it.
"I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything I thought it could be."
i-surrender!

i-Karumbah!
How about HatZilla?

If the submitter thinks that these should never have been made, then why does thinkgeek sell them Here?
"I'm using the SCRAMBLER..."
Alright, who has the sig about "verbing" words?
A social network is nothing more than a group of people. Well, at least that's what it sounds like HERE.
Prove me wrong.
I guess there is no need for sourceforge then....

I hope to *NEVER* have sex with a mare.
It might be a troll, but at least it's not redundant....
