And one more point to add that I just thought of. The strategy of rebranding depends heavily on 'brand' recognition. How does selling a strongly recognized brand like 'ipod' enhance the brand recognition of HP? It doesen't.

Yes. This is why they don't need research anymore. It looks and sounds great to the management holding shares. But in the end when you don't add value to a product the people will eventually cut you out of the equation.

With the emergence of Taiwan, I would be shorting HP pretty soon.

As for the virus, i'm with you on that one. A virus is like a weed. its a program in its own right, its just that you don't want it there. The OS can't read your mind...

Can't do that. They need the hardware to lock you into their software. They need their software to lock you into their hardware. So whichever market fluctuates, they still have a backup.

If they really wanted innovation they would be with AMD. If they risk IBM then they should certainly risk AMD which is doing well on the tech if not the volume. And Apple is not high volume.

It will be very interesting to see if Apple wears the 'intel inside' logo or not.

With Democrats like Bill Clinton I think you have a point...

American global power is invested strongly in her Corporations. Republicans allow these corporations to grow stronger which makes America grow stronger. This is on the backs of American citizens, but nevertheless, still USA is stronger (internationally).

So I think Republicans help US international strength. Its just that they have gone way too far lately (they usually do) and its time for another Democrat cycle.

Personally I dont vote for either, but you asked for a reason, there you have it.
