  1. Sorry, Java always need a JVM on Java Native Compilation Examined · · Score: 0

What he should have said was, "without the need for an additional external JVM." But if it does not run in a JVM, it is not Java because that is part of the language specification. Native compilation is basically "statically linking" to the JVM. It does not make much sense to me. Its only forced because M$ does not put a quality JVM in with their OS so every java app decides to include their own. Its stoopid because the java app should just install the default JVM if its not there, not have 10 different apps each with a statically linked copy of the same JVM within them wasting 20MB... I have YET TO SEE a real native compiled java code. Sure if its non graphical and does not use swing. But you can not just take the whole java library and compile it to true native form. It just aint java no more, not that that is a problem, long as it works. But if your strip Java of most its benefits, why use it?

They don't respect microsoft's chain of certifiers. Thus if you want your java applet to work it must be signed ($400/year+) by either verisign or thawte. That is a monolopy provided by Sun, and it sucks. they are the ONLY 2 cert suppliers in the Java keystore! As for Tuvalu, thats a smart move. Who cares about a .tv domain name.
