    There is a micro Linux distribution floating around somewhere that provides an X server in under 2 MB of physical disk space (but 4 or 8 MB of RAM), but I can't recall the name of it just now.

    smalllinux and TinyX. google should find them.

    A Visa Electron debit card (and probably some others, I don't know) is currently the best solution for those who just can't get a credit card. It's basically a credit card that takes the money directly from its owner's bank account (if there's anything to take :). This requires a direct connection between the bank and the seller though, so most smaller sites don't support it.

    So it just writes the bits closer to each other. No big deal, other manufacturers have done that literally years ago. The problem is, other manufacturers and other, older cd drives don't support it.

    Why just not use DVD-R? :)

    I wonder how the compressed data is stored. Linux kernel seems to support compressed ISO9660, but I don't know if that has anything to do with Plextor's method.

    MySQL isn't bundled with it, but you can easily add it yourself when compiling. You probably just need to get MySQL source or install mysql-dev package and invoke the configure script with --with-mysql=/foo/bar/mysql

    From my experience with various SiS hardware, they don't mix with anything. I've had problems with every single SiS-based thing I've ever touched to.
