Yeah, there are RGB SCART connections on CRTs too. The poster meant the effects of the monitor, not the composite cable or whatever. Look at arcade games from back then, with very nice RGB connections to CRT monitors. That's the "look" people are going for.
CRTs are free or extremely cheap, XRGB units are $300+. CRTs also have the added bonus of not looking exactly like running an emulated game, which is kinda the point of using real hardware.
The "educational programming and real news" is on PBS and NPR. Old and obsolete conservatives have been trying to destroy these dangerous harbingers of socialism nearly since their inception. The "dog vomit" is what you get when you let the market decide what programming to broadcast. Keep voting for those guys and one day there won't be any educational programming at all!
Dude there wasn't any dock before OSX and why would you fill your desktop with aliases when you could just favorite something and have it sit in the apple menu?
In the US Casio is mainly known for cheap music gear and digital watches, around the world and particularly in Asia they seem to offer a whole range of gadgets.
As a side note I got a very cheap Casio Privia digital piano at Best Buy recently and it outperforms ones that cost twice as much, so my only experience with them is positive. Their g-shock watches seem to have a cult following too, was shocked to see them being sold at expensive clothing stores (at insane prices).
This isn't going to stop piracy of the game, as someone who was only interested in the single player experience this just went from my must buy list to the must bootleg list. I encourage anyone who disagrees with these methods to vote with your wallets and don't give them a cent. Like another poster mentioned, buy Torchlight 2 instead. You'll be supporting the original Diablo devs that way anyway.
Hasn't Blizzard made enough money from their cash cow MMO to not need to load down their other games with moneymaking scams and DRM? They're turning into Zynga for crying out loud.
no no no man you just don't *GET* it! you're a dirty capitalist whore if you buy an sgi! if you can't do what you need to do on a 486 running linux then you don't deserve to be doing it!
I believe you're referring to the MSX line of products, which were amazingly underpowered even for their time, and quite buggy. They were intended to be low cost personal computers, but ended up mainly as cheap game systems.
OSX may be pretty, but it's most certainly not "themeable" out of the box. in fact, the only real options you get in that respect are changing the color of the close/minimize/expand widgets at the titlebar (you can choose from graphite or fruity colored), and changing the wallpaper. I believe there are 3rd party apps that let you theme OSX, but I haven't played with them.
No, it just means Mandrake is a slightly less miniscule threat to Microsoft's desktop monopoly.
I bet those guys at MS are quivering in fear of Mandrake overthrowing their plan of world domination via grandma's Compaq because they managed to turn a profit.
"Tripping the Rift" will be Sci Fi's first animated series. Produced by Cine Groupe and Film Roman, the show is about a misfit group of cabinmates aboard a spaceship. Created by Chuck Austen and Chris Moeller, the series "will have the kind of edgy feel that makes 'South Park' a hit on Comedy Central," said Hammer.
Will it have an animated piece of fecal matter called "captain's log"?
when you boot some older machines, all you get is the basic compilier that's in ROM. you're supposed to write your own programs to suit your needs, and record them to tape (or 5 1/4 floppy).

you're right. from now on slashdot should only feature stories abut the latest wal-mart pc's.
You must live in Europe. They put a roundabout in a couple of years ago at a major intersection here in Florida.
Lemme guess, Parkland? NOBODY uses the silly thing correctly. Considering the average Parkland I.Q. is something like 80, that's not very surprising.
you're stuuuupid.
mod parent up.
