I don't think MS is anything special here. This bullshit goes on at pretty much every company. You work at a cube farm, you get treated like an animal. Hell, my company sent out a company-wide email last week saying pay raises will be reflected in our next paycheck. There hasn't been one mention of reviews. In fact, reviews are sporadic at my co, apparently. Sometimes January, sometimes March. Eitehr that, or I'm getting fired next week since my boss hasn't mentioned one word about my review.

If you want control of your own pay, start your own gig. Plain and simple. That's what I'm in the middle of doing. I think it's absurd that millions of people bust their asses from 40-60 hours per week only to get a measly 2-4% annual raise. Why put in the effort for an extra $30 or so a week?

  10. Re:Religious dis-/belief on Both Parties Ignore the Facts · · Score: 1

    Great post.

What really sucks is that this partisanship has become incessant and is really creating problems in this country. What's worse is that the party leaders are exploiting this. All these useless debates about abortion, religion, etc. are, overall, irrelevant to our lives. These are PERSONAL issues that have no business being in government. But, since they are personal, they are highly emotional and cause people to take one side or the other. It's what gets a person to vote Republican, for example, if they disagree with abortion. Abortion has NO relation to how our country is governed. It affects a small minority of the population. Yet, politicians take advantage of the fact people will vote on that issue - regardless of the fact they will be horrible people in office.

Anyway, I'm a registered Independent and despise both parties (although the GOP disgusts me more than anythign else).

We all know that PCs are hit within minutes of connecting to a high speed line. I've never seen so many instances of a virus in my life. And the spyware he had was NASTY. I hope some day to meet the guy who developed SurfSideKick so I can kick him in the balls repeatedly. (if you are reading this you bastard, I hope you meet a painful death very soon)

Anyway, I'd say 95% of my PC clients have problems with spyware. They have no clue what it is or what to do about it.
