When I'd wasted hours and hours in Bard's Tale II on my old Apple ][c only to have all 7 characters die of a poison trap, I'd go back to the beginning to blow some frustration by trying to get the silliest party combination I could think of out and fighting.
The best I ever came up with was a party of seven dwarves. They were Deadly, that bunch. They were the Seven Deadly Dwarves. Lusty, Slothful, Gluttonous...the whole crew.
Of course, you can't get past the second dungeon with a full party...but it was fun anyway.
Their usual strategy is to wait until their competitor is about to launch their new console, then announce that they (Nintendo) are coming out with one too. That way they can cut into the potential market for their competitor's console, as a sizeable chunk of gamers (especially the younger ones with a lot less disposable income) decide to wait for the Nintendo offering.
And that worked great when they were the dominant console. They lost that edge...lost it hard. If they want to regain it, they have to actually outdo the competition in some fashion, woo people without the nostalgia that many of the/. set feel towards Nintendo with features and (most importantly) games that people want. If at all possible, they really need to beat Sony/M$ to the punch, just like the PS2 has done in this generation.
My personal recommendation list of authors that are still putting out books regularly to semi-regularly: George R.R. Martin Neil Gaiman Steven Brust Terry Pratchett Neal Stephenson C.S. Friedman
Up until recently, I would have recommended Robert Jordan...but for now, I'd say hold off until he's finished his Wheel of Time series. I think there's still potential there, but it's not worth waiting for...
"Is this a bug in the slashcode or what? I thought you could only get 5 modpoints at a time... and my "points" don't show up on regular/.
Insight anyone? Will i get $rtbl for going on a modding spree?"
Don't be silly. They *want* you to moderate the hell out of things, in part to stress the system, and in part to encourage all the trolls to do their thing (stressing the system).
Interestingly, I used all 30 points, did my Meta-modding, and then came back a bit later to find I then had 60 points!
"Our long experience with these very difficult experiments warns that antihydrogen may not have really been produced."
We've produced antihydrogen... just kidding!
Looks like the scientist you're quoting, Gerald Gabrielse, is recanting that sentiment, now. He is now acknowledging that their result is probably positive.
The marketing for these things promises to be intensely annoying.
There's only one solution...

You do realize that the article under discussion here is the Scientific American article, yes?
The Silicone Gods? You mean the Pr0n Stars? I don't think they're capable of more advanced communications...
Which, you know, might be taken a liiiitle more seriously if it weren't riddled with cursorily obvious spelling and grammar errors.
How hard is it to proofread, people? Really...
Cruel and Unusual. Not only do they gaffe the poor thing, but then some Doctor's got to go getting nasty with it...
It's obvious. They just need to set up some licensing with those insurance people, then start running commercials with a talking duck.
Instant overnight marketing sensation!

Never saw American Pie, did you?
Huh. And I thought I was cautious waiting for my Playstation 5. Damn you, Ghost of Christmas Future!
Insightful, my ass.
Stan Lee is credited as both a writer of the film, and as one of its Executive Producers.

They must have heard there were Texans coming, or something...
Silly Human!
Tractor beams would only help if we could get behind the asteroid and "tug" on it. This application clearly calls for a Repulsor beam!

Why didn't I realize it before?
This means we might finally get green-skinned Baywatch Babes!
Bah. There are lots of implications to this discovery. No one could say what they are "in fullness."
I knew it! I just knew it!
It's not a song at all! It's some sort of musical fungus! Quick! Everyone, use your Mute buttons! Fast forward, if you can, while you still can!
I see... Yes, on the horizon, here it is... It's Ogg Vorbis, taking the lead as everybody bails on MP3! If only the name weren't so silly...
Gah! No pics of the Demon Duck or Drop Croc?
