Having never taken a martial art, I don't know how effective they are. However, an alternative is to start running. Running has to be one of the best physical activities, and can be done throughout your entire life.
If the school has a cross country team, (especially if it is no-cut, like mine was), then that may be the perfect way to get involved with peers in an activity. It certainly opened me up more to other people and was one of the best decisions I ever made.
And not only is 2.6 going to increase its usage of SVG, bug 2.4 ALREADY uses SVG a lot. Not all of the icon themes use them, but a bunch do. And they look really nice, too.
Although it's true that Intel is using AMD extensions, the way I understood it is that because Intel owns the intellectual property rights for x86, AMD has to pay Intel to use it. Anything AMD develops based on x86, Intel has the right to use for free (this could be an oversimplification).
Why reinvent the wheel? Well, Intel could try to use its muscle and make its own extensions, forcing AMD into a small market share (everyone would make theirs intel compatible), but that wouldn't work well in the long run. So they use AMD's, and free, too.
"That's exactly it, Private. War's over. We won. Turns out you're the big hero. We're holding a parade in your honor. I get to drive the float. And Simmons here...IS IN CHARGE OF CONFETTI!"
This isn't a flame, but seriously: what can people do that robots can't? I've said similar things about this in previous Mars articles, and I'll say them again: humans are too damn clumsy to send in outer space. We need food, water, oxygen... A robot needs solar energy. And there is plenty of it. It just makes NO sense to send people out there, except that average Joe in America or in Europe wants to be patriotic and say "we got the first man on [insert location here]." Please, someone, inform me of a good reason and I'll change my mind.
If I remember correctly, some of the processors, due to glitches in the manufacturing process, have only half usable caches. So AMD disables the half that doesn't work, and sells it for cheaper, instead of discarding an otherwise good processor. I could be wrong about this.
Strange that that is the top of the line, when they advertise the fact they aren't limited to 4 gigs of ram thanks to 64-bit processors. Is the lack of a 4 gig ram limit really useful? Is this a marketing ploy?
I agree - very few of us are entitled to an opinion, because we simply don't know. The truth is that:
Rainforests are being cleared at an alarming rate because of us.
Icebergs are rapidly disintegrating.
We are living just after the end of an ice age, and maybe even a miniature one in the middle ages. So maybe temperatures are returning to their former averages.
A lot of species are about to go extinct. Mass exctinctions are RARE. " 'The speed at which species are being lost is much faster than any we've seen in the past -- including those [extinctions] related to meteor collisions,' said Daniel Simberloff, a University of Tennessee ecologist and prominent expert in biological diversity who participated in the museum's survey. [Note: the last mass extinction caused by a meteor collision was that of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago.]"
Why would there be so many more extinctions coming? I find it hard to believe we aren't even part of the picture, especially when I see how many fossil fuels we burn and all the trees we cut down, and would much rather we take the "better safe than sorry approach." Even if we aren't at all responsible for it, at least we can save species and cut down on pollution through more environmentally-friendly measures.
Or apply to West Point - very hard to get in and 5 years of mandatory military service afterwards, but a free eduaction and lots of cool free stuff (computer freshman year, car junior year etc...)

I'm not so sure about 9/11 attacks, but it is very well documented that during the war between Israel and Egypt, Israel purposely attacked an American ship so that the American army wouldn't pick up on the atrocities the Israelis were comitting against the Egyptians.
I don't really see the point of sending people to mars. What can they discover that the robots can't? Sure, they can say "Hey! It looks different and there is less gravity!," but we knew that anyway. It is far simpler to send robots. Sending people requires food, life support, oxygen etc., whereas a robot needs solar panels.
The price and inconvenience of sending people far outways any reason to send people over there.
" He agreed to help steel money from a bank account......"
Not true. The scam is that the Nigerian bankers need help to transfer money out of the country, or else the country confiscates it. This makes the country (in this case, Togo) seem like the criminals.
If the nice American will provide a down payment and help move the $14 million, he gets half of it in return.
Of course, there is no $14 million, and he pays them anyway. That's the basis of the scam. In this case, they kept on milking him for more and more.
If someone has a degree from a reputable school of higher education, you know that the person knows his C.S.
Having experience is great, but the degree nowadays is required just because the employer needs confirmation of the abilities of the people he hires. If you have a degree AND oss experience, I'm sure you can find a job.
It certainly was effectively used by the spammers to crush their enemies. I forget the name, but one of the major anti-spam websites was forcibly closed because of DDoS, and nobody was prosecuted.
Can you make a beowulf cluster with it?!

I always thought the idea of having a receipt was bad because now vote selling is possible -- corruption galore!
"Did you RTFA?" You must be new here. Moving on, moving on.
Dude, in Soviet Russia, TVs already punch you in the face when you change channels. Get with the times.
It used to be said that a broken mirror would take 7 years to replace due to cost. Looks like the good old days are back :)

It is poorly looked upon to criticize Jews in general, so this is close to taboo.

The shover and pusher robots are by far the best ever!
