    I guess she's not doing everything wrong. If she's even a small part of that $20 Billion increase in Market Capitalization, the money shareholders are spending on her salary is well spent.

    I think the point is the (mostly theoretical, but often discussed) idea of the Pi being used in a classroom, where there's 30 kids all mucking about with this.

  7. What project have you made? Why not use the Arduino? The Raspberry Pi is a cheap shitty computer. It's not really suitable for students, it's suitable for nerds who like the price and want something to install XBMC on.

    For students, a $20 Ubuntu or Windows computer (or a practical way to use an Android as a home PC) would be revolutionary. Raspberry Pi isn't a part of the conversation. Raspberry Pi is for people who want a cheap shitty PC.

    The 50 largest businesses in Canada are all in the business of selling off natural resources to the US, or are banks which primarily exist to help fund selling off natural resources to the US. Of course they are not going to have as much need for college graduates as a nation with a more diverse, developed economy.

    It's a great story, but her invention was never used. It's really a huge stretch it really relates at all to current spread-spectrum technology. Even if you think it is related, spread-spectrum as developed did not base their ideas on her invention, and it's unlikely they were even aware of it.

    I'm sure that's true, due to your extensive knowledge. Also, most black people agree with you that black teens need to pull their pants up and stop blaming society for there problems, and most gays agree with you that homosexuals should have some legal protection but not be given full rights of marriage, which are historically understood to be between a man and a woman.

    The liberals are making up these platforms all themselves! All people discriminated against, in any way, know that right wing Texans speak the truth.

    It's been a long while since I studied Computer Science in college, but isn't graph isomorphism a class of NP-Complete? And wouldn't "solving" any one of them open up a huge range of other NP problems, including cyptographic systems?

    I don't think thievery is much of a motivation. People in the US generally carry $600 cell phones and quite possibly $5000 weddings rings on them, after all. Cards are just easier, and secondly they provide a record of purchases.

    And a cheap laptop runs a lot more than Office or a browser, too. My point is that graphics cards and the like are not particularly useful for people who want to use a PC for normal purposes.

    PCs are general purpose, but who buys an expensive desktop with a graphics card any besides a gamer? Gaming computers are essentially specialized devices that happen to be able to do Windows. They don't run Office or browse the web any better than a cheap laptop, and they're loud, expensive, and bulky.

    I'm browsing Slashdot right now on an Atom processor. Until a few minutes ago I was dicking around at Civilization 5 (set to minimum standards and at less than 1080p, but still). $100 processor computers have reached the point that they're "good enough" for 90%+ of users.
