Some girls get their periods at 10 years old. By your definition they're sexually mature. Call me old fashion, but I still think there's somthing deeply unsavoury about a 10 year old girl (who gets her period) shagging a 45 year old man.
I'm not proposing a solution, just pointing out that basing consent laws SOLEY on a defintion of sexual maturity like the one you propose is dangerously simplistic.

It's a "best of the web" site that links to what, in the editors' opinions are some of the best current journal or magazine articles online. They only post a few links a day, but there're inevitably to the Washington Post, New York Times, The Spectator, the Economist, Atalantic Monthly, Christian Science Monitor, Foreign Affiars, Foreign Policy, The New Atlantis (you get the picture)
Have a look down the left hand side of their web site for links to some fantastic reading. Can't recommend this site highly enough. Aside from the fact that they're moving ever so slowly to the right...
Actually, despite wired saying "this article will be available on $date", they're all available if you can guess the name of the html page. open up one that *is* available & replace the name with your guess - they tend to be 8 letter names.

Dolphins "see" right through us - their sonar goes straight through the soft tissues in our bodies. Perhaps if tumours are a different density to normal tissue they're picking up the difference?

Look - helpful as this wee form is, it turns up every single time someone posts a story on spammers. Can either the Eds or the story submitters do us all a favour & include this form in the story descriptor.
Fair points, but you could still design cities that were designed for people & bikes, and closed to all but commercial & emergency services vehicular traffic.
