That's fine to say the ending was artsy and made you think. All true, though I would argue, "To what end?" Either way, the end was totally inconsistent with the rest of the series. The show makes the viewer remember things and understand things, but hasn't ever implied things before. Even after Tony was shot and had the dreams of being dead for a few episodes the viewer wasn't left hanging. Some speculation, sure, but even though it could have gone either way it didn't. Calling the ending an artistic existential triumph is a little much. It's never been that before and shouldn't have been now.
Have you found any files being shared that AREN'T infringing copyrights you claim to administer? Perhaps some independent artists who don't belong to the RIAA have also been found. I'm curious how they are being treated.
I too have been looking at these but can't find one that would survive a RAID controller that fails. The only solution offered is software mirroring, but then I lose half my drive space. That is, I can't find a solution for under $40,000.
Not mentioned is that the congresspeople were shouting "Shame! Shame! Shame!" as the voting time was being extended. It sounds like a joke, but it's true. I've never heard of something like this happening in congress before.
The engineer that talked about the Prius "running off batteries and not using gas" must have been off his rocker, if what you describe is correct. The energy has to come from somewhere, and in the case of these hybrids, that's from the gas tank. The gasoline motor must run to recharge those battery cells. And the chemical energy (gas tank) to kinetic energy (motor) to chemical energy (battery) transition wastes a good deal of that energy. Add to that kinetic energy to potential energy losses due to regenerative braking, actual brake pads being used in hard stops, and it's a recipe for poor efficiency.
It's my understanding that city driving increases MPG in the Prius because the battery is being recharged at each stop as the car brakes. So the battery, after the city test, should have MORE of a charge, rather than less.
There's no way anyone from SCO will go to jail. Hell, the Fastows only have to serve a total of 10 years, 5 months in jail and only have to give up half of the money they looted and they caused BILLIONS of losses. SCO is nothing compared to Enron.
Any label will just add into their contract with the artist that they'll only pay mechanicals on one copy of the song per disc and the writer of the song will go along with it because it makes sense. Anyways, I think the statuatory rate is something like 8 cents, so on a 12 song album we're only talking about less than a buck difference.
My ATI Xclaim 3D Plus, which was supported in 10.2.8, is not supported in Panther. Apple had been providing the driver. Apparently they're not anymore as it remains unsupported in 10.3.2. ATI refuses to provide a driver saying that the card is too old. It is, btw, still for sale at bestbuy.com.
Just read an article in a Dallas magazine about a firm that does this for radio. They write a catchy jingle then partner with radio stations. The radio stations then give the client the ad for free when they purchase enough airtime. Freed's (a local furniture chain) was mentioned as using one of the canned jingles. The jingle went something like:

Hard to enforce a $10,000 penalty when you can listen to all the music you want for $5/month from Yahoo! or for a bit more from Rhapsody.
Been there, done that. Just walk away. You're leaving for a reason. You didn't really think this guy was going to be a good reference anyway, did you?

anyone still think the economy's on an upswing?
Apparently there are still at least a million phones being leased.

Anyone else have troubles updating their iPod? I try and it tells me my iPod is not connected -- even though it shows up in the Finder.

the kernel patch (and others) requires a reboot.
Thanks for letting us know how long it's been since you patched your boxes.

I'm starting to feel stupid for shorting it.
You can call them losers, but they don't care -- their stock value has gone up ten-fold!!
Me, I'm shorting it and am in the red now. Soon, soon...
All this criticism is all fine and well, but can someone explain why the stock is up $1.53 so far today?
The lunacy has ended. I wonder how many tax dollars were wasted... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,93190,00.html
I guess my label is too small to be on Apple's radar. Anyone know who to contact at Apple to get an invite to the Thursday shindig?
