This can be put another way. I am willing to bet that you do don't get arrested for importing the game or to have it in your possession. What they in fact stopped is the ability of the retail shops to be able to sell this product to the public. PS I believe there are no rights only restrictions.

Although it must be pointed out that on UK TV popstars was aired about a year before Pop Idol. Pretty bloody similar idea if you ask me. And both were aired on the horrible station that is ITV1. So it would seem this bloke Simon Fuller thought wow after the group thing we could do some similar with single artists. Popstars would in fact be more like the forming of the spice girls than Pop Idol. Are we to expect he thought of this idea without the influence of what had been before? Although mixing reality TV and pop music in it's self is no massive leap given the popularity of them both and the audiences they entertain

All AOL have to do is log the user ID and the incoming phone number of the account. This identify where the person logging in with their ID. It is that simple no need for CPUID or MAC addresses. Like users write all that down anyway. Even if they have masked their number the Telecoms company company record all calls so the can bill people. In fact if I recall correctly when canceling AOL they ask you the last time you used it and why are you canceling so it would be likely that canceling process would raise this.

I had a similar problem with playing DVDs on girlfriends Laptop that runs WinXP pro. I was using windows media player tho, it would only seemed to allow the dvd picture on the Laptop screen. My 1st reaction was they don't want people to tape the DVD. However I played around some more and worked out that it only deplayed the DVD picture on the primary display. So I switched the primary display to the TV and yay problem fixed :)

I am not sure why this limitation exists but there you go.
