    A lot of time the cost of the product is in R&D and creating a market by making people aware that it exists. If your competitor just makes an exact clone their only cost is tooling and manufacturing which will be considerably less than yours.

    You're basically saying it would be fine for a chinese company to clone an iphone and use Apples software.

    The Apple analogy is a poor one. That's pretty much what Chinese and Korean companies have been doing: replicating the hardware design and styling the software to look like what Apple produces. Have you SEEN the Apple Watch clones? The difference is Apple is the big dog, and has the clout to take them to the mat in court.

    It may have something to do with the fact that when a missile is launched backwards from a fast moving aircraft, it'll be flying backwards for quite a bit.

    Do you have kids? Being a parent of a toddler or even a kid up to 5 or so means you have to have a Boy Scout mentality. BE PREPARED. Toting around a few extra pounds of stuff (change of clothes, snacks, first aid, entertainment) is worth every extra joule it takes to do so.

    There'll be an app and mobile piss drones. If you gotta go, just push a button and in a minute you'll have a nice hovering tinkle drone (that's a great name for the service "Tinkle") at your command. You'll get charged extra for #2, perhaps by the ounce? ugh.

    If I were to buy a new EV today, with the pace of improvements, in 5 years what would the resale value be compared to a IC vehicle? Battery lifespan, new technologies (faster charge, better range) and one would assume lower prices for new vehicles...I can't see EV user prices being very good after 5 years, and virtually nothing after 10.

    This is merely the result of Apple being primarily a hardware company and Microsoft being primarily a software company.

    What about buying used? The last car I purchased used was for cash, had no paperwork other than that required to licence and insure. There was no EULA.

    Not to mention the general freak-out people concerned with clinical trials, good clinical practice, drug safety and the like are going to have. You can "make" whatever you want, but you're going to have to still go through the process of testing, trials, and so on, even it's a copy of an existing drug using new manufacturing techniques. (I think)
