  1. Reasons For Showing Up on Microsoft To Exhibit at LinuxWorld Expo · · Score: 2

It seems that they will be attempting to show off products with embedded XP technology, and various server products.

  2. Script Kiddies Beware on Data Mining, Cocaine and Secrecy · · Score: 2

This is one server you definitely don't want to hack...

  5. Intel Shredder on Draw! · · Score: 2

Personally, I'm looking forward the Intel Shredder vs. AMD Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo.

Will the rooks look like Technodromes? Will Krang (?) play the king? April could definitely be the queen, although it's a bit of a wierd combination with Splinter, who'd have to be the other king..

    Game on!

  6. Re:Linux/Windows Texas Cage Match on Draw! · · Score: 1

That's probably the best joke I've seen on Slashdot in quite a while. :-)

  7. Re:Chunnel on Sicilian Suspension Bridge to Go Ahead · · Score: 2

Since the Channel Tunnel was 31 miles long, it seems a suspension bridge was not really a valid option.

I imagine a tunnel is a lot more expensive to construct than a bridge, so it makes sense that if a bridge is a viable option, then that is the one the project engineers should take.

  8. Easter Eggs on First Reviews of Mozilla 1.0 Roll In · · Score: 2

Has anyone else experienced the strangeness that is the about:mozilla page (Mozilla users only obviously)? I accessed this page using 1.0 RC3, after noticing the About Mozilla tag leads to the url "about:", not "about:mozilla"

  9. Linux on Dell Desktops on 'Unbreakable Linux' · · Score: 3, Interesting

If Dell are so interested in this project, how about giving the option to buy a desktop online with RedHat instead of just offering the latest M$ OS?

I'm sure sales at Dell.com would increase if Linux users could buy a new PC straight from Dell without having to go through the bother of uninstalling Windows and installing their own copy of Linux. Think of the cost savings as well! No XP license!

  10. RealOne? on Digital Mouths, Synthetic Faces at MIT and Lucasfilm · · Score: 1

Looks like you need RealOne to play these clips...

Why can't people encode video in someone which doesn't require system-hijacking software? Are there any other versions around?

Here's the same over telnet. Without doubt a geek thing. :-)

You could pay the $5.00 for 1000 page views.. That's only about 0.33 cents for each advert (on the basis of 1.5 ads per page), which, if you're THAT bothered by it, is a bargain.

Of course, you could enable "Accept images that come only from the originating server only" in Mozilla.. Or block images from that images[2].slashdot.org

You have to wonder why they're allowing lawyers to buy them -- but then again, at $300, they're the only people who would be prepared to splash out that much on a simple domain name!
