I, too, have the same question when i saw the snapshot. is this registry fake ? If it's not, what the hell is it for ?
see, there is the confusion. It's amazing to see that 'control panel', 'file association' etc being copied exactly like windows. That is what linux desktop users need.
IMHO, copying the windows registry goes bit too far.
My school library offers similar service. last time i used it to suggest a book to buy ( Perl Cookbook 2 ) later in few weeks I was able to borrow it from the library. happy customer:)
the most recent experience was talking to a HP technical person about printer through it's online chat service. To say the least it was helpful and solved my probelm.
I think a lot of companise ( IBM,Toshiba,Cisco if they haven't ) should set up similar service. It will definitly make their customer happier when they in need of service.

the small village where my grandma lives in china was doing that 6 or 7 years ago. though it's not everywhere but it's definitely being used. to power the eletricity etc.

If a company sell a product which use GPLed code. then it's very hard to find out who viloate the GPL licence untill the source code being reviewd.
maybe there are ton of GPLed codes being used in proprietary software and no one find out yet.
The terriosts should learn from the spammer, how they hide their spam mail from filter.
