when is MS going to update its IE for mac? it seems that they are falling behind even more every day. or is MS going to pull out of the mac browser market, which they previously had a large claim to. i cannot see that happening though, but i can see a MS browser on par with MS's flagship mac product, Office v.x. if IE played as nice as office on the mac, wed have a nice three way browser war, chim... err camino vs safari vs ie v.x. but seriously, ie for the mac is getting dusty its so outdated.
how many laptop users change their own HDD? apple thinks about these things. they make access easy to things that need to be easily accessed, (battery, airport card) and make it dificult to access things that dont need to be easily accessed (HDD). its called good design, and apple has i and is what makes them better than PCs even though theyre 'less powerful'.
that might not have been the smartest move posting that here. you might be receiving a small letter from the RIAA some time soon, but thanks for the Art of Noise!
an old door, you know a solid, flat one, supported by two bookshelves that are also old and sturdy. I built it for $10 out of stuff at from local estate sale (like a garage sale)! it holds 3 moniters fine, and all of my books on the shelves. a bit of paint and it looks great.
if you have an idea of what you want, make a quick sketch, it dosent have to be any thing fancy. or start by writing down all of the qualifications for it, it seems like you have a few in mind. take that to any reputable hardware store ( the local one, you know with the old man thats always there) and talk to the guys there. they will be able to show you what materials and fasteners you have to work with. if you go in with a little more direction (read a small 'blueprint') theyll help you cut your materials and set you up with everything you need. building what you really need is infinitely more satisfying than buying a premade solution.
or if you have no mechanical abilities, and thats fine, you can go to IKEA and buy kits at a reasonable cost. plus theyll look good.
i think that we are going to see more graphics hardware and driver support for the mac. Esp. since Alias Wavefront's Maya runs natively. From what ive been hearing its runs very well on newer Macs, and has become a fairly popular hardware choice for Maya users. There are also a number of other 3D packages on OSX, Lightwave and Cinema 4D spring to mind immediately. Macs have only recently become a good choice for 3d graphics professionals, especially since they probably have to use them for other parts of their workflow.
What im getting at is, i wonder how long it will be until we start to see developer boards (read Quadro and Fire GL and Wildcat) released for the Mac. Im sure hardware support is a reason that most 3d packages dont have a mac port.
but maybe the real reason im bitter is i have to use a PC to run AW Studiotools, when Maya runs in OSX... grumble... grumble...
its not our fault you cannot get/keep a job, so stop bitching. If you want handouts, go on welfare, but stop bitching please. Its such a buzzkill, just let others have their fun in peace, you know that individual right to 'pursuit of happyness' thing.
they are obviously not going for the crown, but rather the oem market. theyll clean up house there if they can get it out of the door cheap. plus itll be better than the gf4mx's everyones using.
even more rare than the rare games are rare systems, especially all the ones made grey market in Korea. For someone who,is looking to collext every system, it makes things a pain.
also what about Dev kits, im supriseed theyre not rare. id love a xbox dev kit or a ps2 dev kit. rare in 20, hell yeah.
if not you really would like it, everything works like it should. you can open every drawer, pet every cat, talk to everyone, play mahjong or arcade games to your hearts content. Teh "world" is correct, people have schedules, shops have hours, etc. it is my favorite rpg to date.
if you dont already have a dc you can pick one up cheap with the game. shenmue 2 is available for the dc as an import but is coming to xbox, but makesure you play the first one first or youll never understand the plot.
btw, phantasy star has always been a nice series, esp PSO
you can get them for about $45 now. they have built in 56k and availabale brodband support. There is an available mouse and keyboard that can be had for about $30 together, otherwise i think theres a ps2 to dc converter. your local funcoland will most liokely be willing to give you the web browser disk, otherwise its like 79cents.
so for about $70 your up and running.
also you can play games that are still awesome, of which many will appeal to the older audience, my grandpa loves chu chu rocket! plus if they dont like it you can keep it and run a whole crap load of homebrew software, and emulators.
can she dial a phone, cause last i checked QVC and the HSN are still on 24hrs a day. And my tv has never crashed on me. Catalogues are great too, most of theem have 800 numbers so you dont even have to fill in forms. Good online stores will also have a phone number.
and im not trying to be a dick, but remember, computers are not the answer to everyones problem, nor are they usable by all. But luckily alternatives exist.
jeskola buzz is a free software synth, tracker, multimachine. there a re tons of plugins for it, machines and effects. it will interface with your midi keyboard well but ive never used one.
"This is because the list below is simply a list of all the programs that were nominated for inclusion in this, the first volume of the OpenCD, which is intended to cover mainly desktop software."
no those are just links to projects and are not on the CD, note that Mozilla is on that list. if all of this was on the cd id be dling it right now.
touche, i see the clumsyness of my fingers has gotten the better of my brain. although i cannot see this being the last time, it is certainly not the first.

i dont think that it is hurting sales though. when it does youll see a change.
you can get all of teh goodness here!
it only runs under windows and anything over p2 should be fine. i just wish it was opensourced so i could run it on my g4 or under linux.
