The dicks at Monsanto patent these GM crops arguing that these are completely "new" organisms that have never been seen before. Hence they should be granted the patent on them.
Then Monsanto turns around and claims to the public that these organisms are just like the original, only "better", "more healthy". They even fight all attempts to add labeling that would let consumers choose whether they eat GM foods or not.
They argue that the GM foods have not scientifically been proven to be unsafe. The reliance on the absence of evidence the GM crops are unsafe to prove they are safe is rediculous. We don't know what the effects of this crap are going to be in the long term, or how they will effect the natural species of the crops.
Fuck Monsanto. I do not wish to be part of their global "experiment".
I don't care if the spammer is American, Chinese or Martian.
Well, considering that the Martian addresses are non-routable, I'd say you won't be receiving much spam from there.
So your slashdot ID is ethx1 and you are advocating spamming scott richter and running his fax machine out of ink? This makes you different from him in which way exactly? This was a joke right?
When access is attempted using the provided login/password combinations, the criminal is detected in real time (he is not safe by proxying - he is still dead meat when seen in action. Logs will exist on the proxy servers to point right to him, the more the merrier.)
You assume you have access to and logs on the proxy server when this is not necessarily the case. All the attacker needs is a few compromised hosts to hide their trail completely, making your scheme a complete waste of time.
I like how they tried to obscure the "Gillette Venus" printed on the boxes in the PDF file but the overlay image doesn't appear until the picture is completely loaded.
This reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer builds a webpage and starts calling himself Mister X. When the web graphic loads, it first loads Homer's picture, and then loads the ? bag over his head. he he.
Never thought I'd see it anyplace but on the Simpsons, but I guess with the recent/. articles on Tomacco & Skittlebrau I should have figured otherwise.

"We are starting to get the distinct impression that FMC is fucking with us on the peroxide supply situation. We keep doing the things they say (spending thousands of dollars), and they keep coming up with some other reason we still can't buy peroxide (or just not return calls for weeks). They have strung us along for a long time now, and convinced us to stop talking to Degussa, but we still don't have peroxide.
There was some talk about this a while ago, but I was a lot more hopeful about FMC, so I didn't pursue it -- maybe it is time to set up a new company on the scale of X-L Space Systems.
I don't want to be in the chemical processing business, but I would probably be willing to be an anchor customer. I want to buy $100,000 worth of peroxide this year.
One of Michael Carden's customers has one of his concentrators, and is willing to do some peroxide production for us, but I would really prefer to work with a company, even a small one, that is devoted to peroxide, and really cares about all the details, not just someone that can feed a machine.
Would any ERPS people be interested in actually running a business to do this? I would be happiest working with a proven production system (one of Michael's), but I could entertain notions of paying for more development work on the ERPS concentrators.
This is sort of a trial balloon here -- if FMC turns around and ships us peroxide, that is still my preferred solution.
Think of a catchy name and start a search engine. Something like "Compuglobalhypermeganet" would do well.
Sorry to break the news to you, but the domain compuglobalhypermeganet.com is already taken. (BTW I loved that Simpsons episode. I wonder what Matt Groenig/Fox think of this.)

I have a portable power source that can be recharged with a solar panel. Combine that with an Inverter, and you can power your laptop for an additional 10 hours past the life of the battery. (I have done it.)
So, if they set it up right, the amount of extra pollution from the power is zero.
No one cares about apple? Apple users are the most loyal customers around. And isn't OSX based on a BSD UNIX implementation? I doubt very seriously that this would kill Apple.
Also, I have never seen a default installation of Linux that is secure out-of-the-box. Regular users out there will be just as insecure as they are now unless someone skilled in security locks the box down for them, and continues to apply security patches and bug fixes.
I don't like Microsoft any more than the next Slashdotter, but your claims are a bit exaggerated.
Actually he didn't buy anything from Monsanto. His argument was that his rapeseed(canola) crop was cross pollinated by Genetically Modified variants in neighboring fields. Monsanto argued that since they owned the copyright on the GM rapeseed, that the farmer was in violation of their copyright. Amazingly enough Monsanto won the case.
Monsanto is being counter-sued for contaminating his crop. If there is any justice, they will have to cough up some big $$$ for it.
I too thought the Canadian justice system wouldn't be as bad as our own, but it goes to show you how fscked up any government can be when idiots are making the decisions (Go USA!!!)
This Patriot act is getting downright unpatriotic.
John Kerry voted for that Patriot Act. So it would seem the US of A is fucked no matter who wins the upcoming election.
The only way to stop spam is to hammer the advertisers. Follow the money. Penalize the folks who benefit. No other law-based solution will work.
What's to stop unscrupulous businesses from going out and advertising their competitors products just to get them into trouble?

Un-fucking believable.
would it be possible to sniff spam packets?
Yeah, but they smell like shit.

Erm, don't you mean foley (not folly)?
Of course I guess they could be non-folly sounds.

One of the key element is that you can buy virtual Levis and Nikes for your Avatar.
Are these items made in virtual sweatshops by virtual children for virtually nothing just like in real life?
Data over ham might work.
Plug that ethernet card right into a pigs ass and see what happens!!! Seriously tho, isn't this being done using packet radio?

I guess it depends on what they mean by exclusive. A search on dictionary.com yeilds
several definitions for the word exclusive.
exclusive adj.
1. Excluding or tending to exclude
Yeah, pretty much sums up a firewall ruleset. Unless your FW ruleset is
designed to allow everything, they do tend to exclude.
But my favorite definition is:
8. Catering to a wealthy clientele; expensive
Perhaps they are catering to the wealthy people who can afford to purchase the book and read the license agreement on the CDROM?

Technically, while "discretely" was the wrong word to use, it was spelled correctly.
As long as you're including extras, what happened to installing security updates?
Default OS's are rarely secure out of the box.
