more over, electric cars require materials for the batteries that are commodities. I expect these materials will become the new oil. It would be better to invest in technology to figure out a way to make a hydrogen car viable.
Steam is a service. Companies have to realize that they are competing with the pirates and until they started offering the product and distribution system Customers wanted (easy to copy games to dozens of systems for the same account, easy to patch games, easy to buy) like Steam they were going to continue to lose. Price is not the only differentiator.
they can do all the gotcha studies that they want, but it is never going to change what the real problem is. Programs to help and promote good parenting should be the focus if you want these metrics to improve.
no vendor lock-in problems like this, no poor quality consoles, why exactly are you not PC Gaming? You even get to use all 10 fingers to play games and not just your thumbs.
MS has actually failed at providing features that people want and rather worry about what a small group of marketing people want. It would be a huge advantage for Windows to boot in seconds, but it has never been a priority for MS. This is what they are failing at, there are almost no new features regular people want so there is no advantage to change, even for corps.

keeping the peace is not the same as draconian big brother and a big money making scheme. Notice how all of these speeding camera companies are not non-profits with their CEOs limited to $80k salary? If they want to enforce the speed limit then they should have actual officers there doing the job.

you like to eat right? This may kill off a huge amount of the fish in the gulf. The lasting environmental impact could be great. Now if there are lots of these incidents then who cares about the car, there will be nothing to eat. BP needs to pay the billions they are asked to clean this up and there needs to be a lot more to prevent more accidents like this. Not drilling at a mile under the sea seems completely reasonable.
People also abuse this information and they will be screwed as well. I for one like that I have the option to prevent those few that would like to abuse it no data.
If HP was being honest they would release their books and show their ink cartridges only have a margin of 10%. Everyone knows the margin is probably 200%, this just makes them look dishonest as well as greedy.
this is the truth and what cable is really scared of, but screw them for not taking care of their Customers. That is that a market economy is really about isn't it.
price is clearly not the only differentiator or Linux would be the only operating system. All of the forced "you bought our product, but your a pirate" messages and trailers before you get to the actual movie and the DRM, which makes it a crap shoot if it will actually play makes you wonder what these movie companies are thinking. If they put up a bit torrent website and offered DRM free movies for $3 a download they would make huge money. The music industry did not implode when Amazon started offering DRM free mp3 songs.
Companies would be better off to dump DRM all together and realize that they would do better competing with pirates if they provided the product DRM free in a similar distribution model. Steam is more like a service so it is a good compromise.
Steam is really more of a service. You are giving up your complete and total control of your games for convenience, but IMHO it is worth it. I can move to any computer, login to Steam, download, and play games. It also keeps them patched. It is a trade, but one where I get something I want.
when you buy a DVD the first thing that happens when you try and watch it is you get told you are Criminal (FBI warning, don't pirate, etc) and then you have to sit through unskippable trailers, then crap dynamic menus, and finally after 10 min or more you get to the movie. With a pirate copy you get the movie first thing with no crap, which is what people buy. You would think that movie execs would put two and two together.

Steam is not DRM, it is a service. Big difference.

you have the right to face your accuser. How are you suppose to do that with a camera?

it has already been taken away from apple. Their DRM hosed them, they have just not realized it yet.

thank you scared Comcast or Time Warner Representative. The rest of us are happy using MythTV.
LiveTV is a feature of MythTV, but if you are using in it, IMHO you are doing it wrong.
The topic was that pirates provide a better product. Interesting you had nothing to the actual parent post as pirates do provide a better product.
It is not a lie, pirates are providing a better product that people want. Why movie companies are refusing to provide it is bad business.
