I have a Paperwhite, currently plugged into a Win 10 Pro (Anniversary release). Number of blue screens? Zero. Unplug it. Same number of blue screens. Zero.
I'm getting ready to replace all the switches and outlets in my 1982 era house. IoT will not be present. I want an outlet to do 2 things. Connect to the circuit breaker box, and provide electricity to my stuff without blowing up.
House rentals are another big CL scam. My ex-neighbors house was being actively scammed.
It was up for rent, and this young woman shows up at my door asking about it. She had been in contact with some dude on CL. "$900, all utilities included." Of course, he was out of town (had to move to California suddenly). He had the key in hand, and wanted her to send him the $900 + $900 security dep. In return, he sends her the key, blah blah.
This was a house that actually was being rented for $1100, with no utilities. From a valid real estate agency.
I told her in no uncertain terms..."This is a scam. You will never see the key, nor will you ever see that $1800 again" Young single mom, but she did have the smarts to ask around.
Even worse, they want your fridge as well. http://www.samsung.com/us/appl... http://www.cnet.com/news/touchscreen-refrigerators-and-talking-everything-at-ces-2016/
hmm....The 960GB Sandisk Ultra II in the PC under my desk was $220 when I bought it 4 months ago. Today, $250 at Newegg. This price point is revolutionary news because why?
Personally, what I see i: 1. The topic selection. Far too much gunk 2. The comments. Every single thread devolves into many, many political bullshit rants. Democrat idiots, Republican assholes, liberal, conservative, Socialist, Communist, Fundies blah blah......
'Most people do it'? No, most people do NOT do it. A large percentage, probably. Most? No.
But tell my last truck that it is OK to text and drive. When the 17 year old came strolling through the intersection at 55+, broadsiding me and rolling it on the roof...That was not a fun way to spend my lunch hour.
Same here with a paperwhite.
Have you turned any of the devices on yet?
Yes, both PC and Kindle. Works just like it did last week, last month, last year.

My experience with Cox over several years and different houses was just the opposite.
Absolutely terrible.
Price was no different, but getting them to fix their dying upstream box took months.

Can't leak what doesn't exist.
And unfortunately, this goes into the column: "We created 1,170 jobs!"
Have fun hanging out at Starbucks with that gaming PC.
The reason for those is to be seen using it, not for any real use case.

This whackjob was apparently a bad egg long, long ago.

No thank you very much.
Energy density. We are decades away from a fully electric airliner.
You do realize that the EPA was brought into existence by the uberRepublican, Richard Nixon, right?
claims that 31% of Americans they'd surveyed would consider moving to Canada if Foo were elected President.
As has been said every 4 years for the last few decades.
Oh my.
$LargeCompany has released, for free, a set of tools that work well with some applications that you do not wish to buy.
Oh woe is you!
Can his victims unforget what he did?
And this $2000/month comes from...where?

#1 you can maybe fix
#2 not so much
News for nerds, stuff that matters.
There's no doubt that the Slashdot community is one of the most thoughtful, intelligent, and prolific communities on the web.
Used to be. Can you return it to that?
It appears this will be just another line of cars, not completely ditching the 4-cycle for electric.
Why not explore that line?

Does that " adequate auto insurance" work for a commercial driver? Does that cost less than what a traditional taxi driver pays?
Just one of the many ways Uber/Lyft sidesteps 'the rules'.
I think we've reached (or about to reach) a tipping-point when it comes to novelty and CE...
It's not done until it can play mp3's.
