I think there is a pretty clear-cut indication of how things stand.
No one in the U.K. apparently wants to join with the Euro. The protests are quite large.

Of course, it has a cryptic interface and is far from the easiest package in the world to use....But if you are serious, you need a serious software solution; You apparently aren't serious, since you are limiting yourself to Mac, so Maya is the best choice for a system to learn in case you ever do get serious.

I am trying to get a new career started doing animation (wishful thinking, probably) since I can't find employment in the Uber-geek field anymore.....

Anyway, here is the link to a tripod page with 2 of my animations on it; the first listed is 3 minutes, and took me about 3 weeks to do; It takes a AMD XP1700+ about 6 hours to render 180 frames at 704x480 res, and any decent animation is going to be at that level or better.

I've worked with professional rendering farms, that employ multiple network linked PC's each doing a little bit of the job...and you get a direct linear reduction in time for each CPU involved. How is it possible that a single graphic processor can do all this work?

and if it IS possible, where do I get one?

P.S. if you think the animations are decent, I would love the feedback. If you think they suck, well, shut the fuck up, ok?

In 2242, the federation whipped klingon butt at the battle of Donatu; this caused the klingon empire to reach out for allies, the best choice was the romulans.
in 2268, the Klingon Empire had been, in effect, subjugated by the Romulan Empire; most of the higher class Klingons were Romulan / Klingon hybrids. This state of affairs is reflected on screen by the romulans adopting the warbird ship configuration.
The ethnic pure Klingons were 2nd class citizens, and didn't travel in space during this period.
The alliance ended in 2271 following a property dispute.
The entire Romulan episode, aside from a highly sanitized version, was expunged from Klingon history.
