well i have been using matrox as much as i can because i wish to support them and their support for linux. My G400 Millenium is getting dated (as is anything called 'millenium') and i was considering not going matrox on my next card. Well personally i like matrox for their AWSOME 2D support and vidual clarity. I have never seen a geforece with such a crispt picture asa matrox. So if they finally get a powerful card out there for cheap then they get MY business. Anyway the have GREAT support for linux. I would strongly recommend a matrox for anythinbg other than gaming... and even then you dont get BAD framerates on games.
soap is made to help lift off the firt and deap skin from your body so that bacteria does not have a place to reproduce... the harsher the soap the more the "antibacterial" proporties are... and also if your like me you use soap to not smell bad not just to be germ free...
you think that a bike cant survive in the microwave??? what about taking the bike a part and ditching everything but the tagged part... i dont know about you but at $1 a pop i would not want to have to put $20 tags in my bike for every part...
*I* havent... i dont even use XP the onyl place i have ever used it is in my computer class in school... and i only used it to see the specs real quick before i formated and put mandrake 8.2 on
how bout they give away beta's with the pre order.. im sure you could have a million people pre order it and BAM you could hire some quick temp programmers and fix it up with all that cash... cause with a pre order its straight money... nothing like a quick infusion of cash to get some slowware or vaporware moving right along (ahem nintendo)

dont forget everyone's favorite the 8042 (keyboard controller chip)... or the 8237 for controlling the DMA... and my favorite the 8259 for IRW control... hmmm maybe im going to burn my own ill call it the 80*42* casue it will find the ultimate question... hmmmmmm
ok sure ill give uyou this... the barin doesn't store music in digital format but music isn't digital either... but the fact is WE HAVE NO DAMN IDEA how the brain stores data... in fact saying its digital is just about as likely as anything else right now... so really anyone's guess could be correct right now...
M$ would have kept letting people pirate too other than the fact that they are starting to get some real competition and they want to "lock in" everone... if you pirate software how badly do you care about staying with them... not really... now if you just shelled out $100 for an OS would you be about to drop[ it for something you could have had before for free... maybe not... and besides windows makes little to no money for M$ and may even creat a loss considering the expense of lawyers to protect it and tech support... the real cash is in office and THAT is where they are afraid... open office and star office are really layuing the hurt on their future outlook and they are AFRAID
i too enjoy mandrake very much and at my high school they are building a linux lab for students to learn on (hooray!) and i have been putting mandrake on as many computers as i can get access too... everyone seems pretty impressed because it works so well with not having to download a single thing... its an all in one package... the only problem is that the packages are on 3 cd's and today i spent hours of my class time running around a room swaping cd's throughout the various coputers... anyway we just got new boxes in and i got my eye set on em:) well if anyone else is in a high school computer class try and do what i did... ask your tracher if you can duel boot one of their computers and put mandrake on (mandrake is hands down the easiest distro to go form win->lin with so just start with it) so then show the computer users at your school and before long people will be asking for you to burn them cd's... just remember that linux is never going to have the much predicted "mass conversion" to linux... users must learn on a one by one basis... and MAKE SURE your not pushy or arrogant
wtf flaimbait??? wtf is your prob... i jsut wanted to point out the parents sig... i said nothing about it... whether it was good or bad or ANYTHING... i left it up to you... i assume because you modded me as flamebait that you thought the sig was a BAD one and i was pointing that out... whatever man
do they adjust for piracy... i mean according to the MPAA they lose $143,543,145,695,234,434 or something on piracy so i wonder if thats how they get these numbers...
well the issue of farming is a much more difficult one ever since Clinton signed NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement)... in a nutshell NAFTA makes it so that according to business there isn't really borderd between Canadam, Mexico, and the U.S. This may SEEM like a good way to proote trade at first but it has cuased all sorts of consequences.
One of the big ones is that a company can sue a government for enacting a law that is harmful to their business and make up bloated amounts of damamges (DMCA style). like if the U.S. enacted a law banning a chemical for public health concerns and some company made that chemical and now lost money they could sue the U.S. government or the state in which the law is in. Dont beleive me?
That is just one example of how NAFTA stripes away a governments sovreignity. Another is farming. In some areas of Mexico the only way communities survive is to farm their land and sell what they dont eat. Becuase of NAFTA, now cheaper produce can flood into Mexico from the U.S. where there is more advanced farming techniques making competition impossible. Now all of a sudden families arent able to survive so they must one up the competition. They can try to obtain the machinery used by the U.S. farmers but as any business person knows you cant always be laggin behind the competition, you must find a way to go above them. So the only thing these impoverishes farmers have going for them is they are willing to work for less. they put their freedom aside for theiur immediate survival. So now the tables are turned and U.S. farmers are i trouble. They are making the same product but paying more for it. This is not good for the farming economy. The U.S. governmetnt bailed out farmers becuase they need it. As far as im concened thats all our national government should do, take over the jobs too big for any one state to handle. And i dont want to hear any of you say we can live without farming. Farming is a huge business that creates MANY jobs for Americans and without it our entire foundation would be suceptible to collapse.
So my point is this. The U.S. governmetn can and should help out sections of our economy when they are in trouble. Im tired of hearing people say that we should not even protect ourselves especially when they are tlaking about something that seemingly does not affect them. So this is a new economic game we ae all playing, one in whcih the big picture must be veiwed because if not we could easily slipe out of control of our own country.
... but what i want to see is low power consumption... i know that people will just talk about a laptop but thats kinda what im thinking.. just a laptop without the moniter... maybe you could put on in your car or someting...
webserver admins will always look at linux as an option... we dont need to worry about them choosing linux... but if we ever want to see linux on the desktop its not going ot happen immediatly... everyone has always predicted that suddenyl there is going to be a massive conversion of windows users... its not going ot happen... each linux user must be converted one by one... so if you DO use linux then help other... what linux needs is for experianced users to help them through the process... so go out and help 3 other people... and they help 3 other people and so on... you get the idea... personally for me i understand this well as i am still moving over to linux now and it does hlep to have other around... when i know wnough im going to help everyone i can...
this does indeed look promising... i was simply pointing out that 99% of LOSSLESS compression is cpu intensive... where as many lossfull codecs decode on the fly well... so FLAC does look good and i hope that this type of project takes off
the big problem with some of these codecs is that thet are CPU intensive... it would be ery hard to creat a portable with enough power to be able to decode audio on the fly... it is similar to when i download huge zip files and i want to decompress them on a 486... also what if i want to set up a streaming mp3 server ove the network and se up a laptop next to me stereo... the server better not be my little pentium 75 here... maybe ill have to sacrifice my 400 mhz gateway for this... i dont think so... so there is no "free lunch" when it comes to compression
i know im going to get it for responding to a troll but here goes... you are so WRONG WRONG WRONG... first of all you are calling their cartoons 'goofy' in the wrong place... also of course they are overcrowded... welcome to earth but the differnce is that they have learned to manage their population issues in a very efficient way... also your genital comment was just completly dumb... im not going there... and as for saying japan chooses your career??? WTF r u tlaking about... japan has one of the most open career systems around as they look completly at merit of an individual... they may look differently than western culture does but they really do try do judge simply on your own possibility to succeed... and it is NOT all work work work in japan... face it... they have faced some really huge issues and solved them quite well... i think america has a lot to learn from them... just look at our telocom system... nuff said...
i actually have computer that used to be on the wireless network using 802.11b... unfortunatly there was a microwave next to it so there was so much interference i could not stand it... every time the microwave goes on BAM network error... so i got some nice sheilded cable and ran that down to my wired hub... so personally im saving up for 802.11a becuase of the frequency difference so i dont worry about interferance
AND it has better range/data rate... you can always get a 802.11a/b access point if your so picky...

hahaha thats funny... "X crashed" hahaha... like thats going to hap
actuallt on my mandrake 8.2 box the windos key works... so maybe because of my freind open source i will add some windows functionality
