silly... cards are just a giant ame of numbers... well for them its not so giant... a physicyst would be the best at cards that i cna think of... counting cards and making estimates on probability is what they are good at...
actually a lot of people used to start smoking when they were 10 or younger... people take for granteds our youth smoking campaigns... they dont work as good as they should and these days are a joke but at the timeit was a novel idea to educate like that
there is always the old 'because i can' but that sometimes gets kinda dull...
the feat here is not that the is a webserver running here its that the author was able to run an embeded proegram on a non pc system...
whether it is a webserver or whatever else doesn't matter the point is that this is one step in the right direction formany other things such as maybe a gameboy emulator...
these baby steps are the way reverse engineering is done and i amhopeful that this could lead to many other cooler GBA programs or GBA devices for use in a pc environment
lemme explain some things... well i dont really understand why i was modded flamebate because i meant no flaming... i simply wish for *nix to get more secure... i beleive that this new tehcnology will help very much... and i was quoting from the article itself and then agreeing to it...
also as for my personal experiance in programming i have been learning to program for over 5 years now and what i meant was that I actually have taken a look at some of the code unlike many security experts who gain their entire base of knowloedge form a user standpoint... i believe that right NOW *nix is more secure but who knows what would happen if there was a flood of people going over to use it...
what i meant was that there would be a bigger motivation to hack it... right now not many people wanna try and mess with *nix but i beleive that *nix needs to prepare... i have not seen very much actual security defense other than sinply 'ive never been hacked' which makes me afraid...
my point is that *nix IS more secure NOW but who knows where it will go in the FUTURE... i just wish it stays as secure as it is now... im just kinda tired of people putting blind faith in *nix... i put my faith in it too but thats because i have looked into some wide spread problems and i think that *nix is the answer and we must all try and help... no flame intended
Our faith in the superiority of *nix security is somewhat misplaced, though. For the coming battle, *nix is almost as defenseless as scorned Windows.
I for one have to agree... though i am no kernel hacker i have at least given a laymans browse through some networking code and from my opinion(a programming student) the *nix kernel and general code of the *nix's does not haven more defense against hacking...
i kind of agree with thos that say that *nix is apred because there is much less motivation to hack it... not many script kiddies run it so they would rather us windows to nuke windows... as soon as the long predicted switch over to linux happens (however quickly) then *nix WILL have the same problems as win...
i think this is the type of project that we as a commmunity should really try to rally around and help out...
'nother quote...
The primary goal of SUBTERFUGUE is to help you keep control of your computer
so if you can help do so now... and please everyone we need to look into the security issues before they become vulerabilities...
ok the poster did not mean that this senator is ACTUALLY a 'baby bell' what he DID mean was that this senator has been known to be a sell out to large media corporations...
THAT is the point... so it makes sense that this senator would support legislation that would bring more money to 'those' corporations
hehe haha i just found out that it is I who own www.wehavethewayout.com and it turns out that it has been running off of MY apache server but the other day i had to install windows for a fmaily member and somehow it switched over...:) who knew....
You could send 10-20% of your internet expense(ISP or maybe modems netowrking equipment if you want) to someone who can actually bring this to the decision makers of America...
This idea is not new and you WILL help defend our freedom. Others are doing this and YOU can be a part.
Whether or not there will be a way is not the important issue here...
Of course all of us here on/. and similar sites will be able to find a way but that doesn't matter. What will matter is that if these types of technolgy are put into place WE here on/. and other sites would be BREAKING THE LAW by using our own hardware and media...
The MOST IMPORTANT issue here is that jope user will NOT understand... an average user does NOT read/. does NOT run linux and DOES use AOL or whatever other 'easy' ISP...
My point is this, the average user will be left behind as all of us here try to run and hide in our corners with our open media... we need to stand up and defend those who do not understand what this will mean or those who cannot defend EVERYONE'S rights...
So get out and get involved... spend some time or money (or both) on helping defend EVERYONE'S rights... make sure that you are not abandoning others for your own personal use of media...
i have yet to see a card with a better picture clarity and overall 2d computing... and i think thats what matters... how ofter do you use 3d... 10% 20% of the time...
maybe if we are lucky this new technology will help us use more 3d but untill then we use 2d for the majority for the time and i dont know about you but my eyes start to hurt when i have a fuzzy picture causing text to be a little bit less sharp...
so keep using your matrox cards... they are still VERY useful for day2day use...
haha i would say that THAT was definetly on topic because he was posting about another on topic post... anyway if anyone is off topic it is ME because im just trying to whopre for some karma and maybe hope for a turn around in the moderation and get some +funyn goodness... moid ME down if you have the GUTS^H^H^H^H spare mod points...
came from msnbc... hmmm im kinda afraid because they would most likely put a little bit better of a spin on this so i would like to see some other article and what someone ELSE thinks of this...
im not that mean.... look a borken link... haha figure it out.... long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post...long post........ haha not really.... trolling AND logging in booya..
uhmmmm oh man 'I' should have stayed offline today... i was stupid enough to download rpms on my other box this morning when i was sleapy and forgot the date... anyway I assume the the format will make it end but.... crap....
i beleive that the K7S5A is an awsome board... not only is it fast and mostly stable(arguable but its not BAD nor is it GREAT) but its CHEAP...
i beleive that a cheap mobo IS good... most of the time your mobo is NOT the problem and some other cheapo part is... if you can save $20 (or more usually with the ECS K7S5A) on your mobo then you can get a better power supply or ram which usually ARE the source of a problem...
the cost recovered by a cheaper board is quickly justified when suddenly you can buy ECC ram or throw another 50W on a power supply
i kow many people who work in or have worked in support and they can ALL give you horror stories about how people call them telling about how some 3rd party product messed them up...
they call or email or sometimes even show up at their office screaming about how when they click on their AOL icon now something is wrong and they want a refund or something like this...
remember that M$ sells to a different group than Linux... they people who buy M$ WANT a giant monopoly OS... they WANTeverything pre configured...
they can hardly understand what to do when everything IS already installed and trhats how Dell, Compaq, Gateway and many others survive but most of their service agreements have restrictions on what you can do with your own puter...
so i believe that the core OS probably CANT be stripped out anyway because outfits like Linux have made it a requirment to be able to insert and remove a core os...
...the point is please think about M$ a little harder... i dont defend what they are doing but i beleive that at least they got some of it right...
get a dual moniter one too... i know you wanted a new moniter but a new vid card is good too... anyway matrox cards are by far the clearest sharpest cards out there...
it will reduce eye strain AND their dual moniter cards have the option for low visibility functions such as a magnifier for the second moniter and the first one is the actual screen... anyway i would advice dual lcd's on a matrox G550 dual dvi
hmmmm sorry but 'YOU' or 'I' would like this but not most other people... i mean most people dont wanna watch a show where they watch corporations squable of trademark dilution and copyright infringment... i beleive this is whats wropng with this whole situation...
people are becoming too apathetic and it is seen that if you take an opinion on such matter people say "get a life"...
if this show were to appear on a pbs station that might work but only if some of us that have a concience get off their ass and actually help the situation... i mean that in a good way...
more people need to slow down with their slashdot:) and get to changing something for real...
if you post on/. you are largly speaking to a population that already agrees with you... anyway so just get out there and actually make some phone calls
... dont......how bout instead of using frivolous lawsuits we tell em what we think of them the way the system wants us to...... with our money... dont support them or those that support them... itll be hard sure but its also harder to watch hipocracy...
silly... cards are just a giant ame of numbers... well for them its not so giant... a physicyst would be the best at cards that i cna think of... counting cards and making estimates on probability is what they are good at...
time warner is HUGE and im sure they DO own the network but my point was almost the same as yours...
cost is not the big deal here...
what Is a big deal is how much profit they can make...
they would rather have us PAY MORE than USE LESS
as usual this isn't about saving money...
its about making more of it...
if you upload @ 12k a second than they could charge another $10 a month for a faster upstream... or $20 for even faster...
see this way they are STILL giving out the SAME bandwidth but now you 'have the option' of paying more...
thats how its always working with pay by the meter service for anything...
actually a lot of people used to start smoking when they were 10 or younger... people take for granteds our youth smoking campaigns... they dont work as good as they should and these days are a joke but at the timeit was a novel idea to educate like that

im waiting for the new geforce 4...
hehe haha i just found out that it is I who own www.wehavethewayout.com and it turns out that it has been running off of MY apache server but the other day i had to install windows for a fmaily member and somehow it switched over ... :) who knew....
Awsome point... support the little man...
help us(everyone) out by tithing(just incase you dont know) to some organization such as the EFF...
