So, let me get this straight....
Suddenly, there is a large movement for people to port Linux programs to Windows?
Isn't this slashdot? Shouldn't this be a selling point for crossing over.?
Make it up! "http://linux.org/Ultima7/Switch"
When i was 14, and didn't own my own PC, this would have appealed to me in a large fashion. However, at this day and age, my own PC has such an allure to it. I mean, I'm far more dangerous with my own mouse/keyboard/chair/monitor/videocard. Anything else would seem alien. I'll stick to broadband for my multiplaying games.
On a bit of a side while same note, haven't people been suggesting recently, that with the way home theaters are going these days, that the Cinema [10 years or so]is soon to be an endangeres species? Who wants to pay $10 to sit in a crowded theater with people drooling on you, and talking all around you, while you get jacked on Popcorn/Drink prices, when you can sit at home, and watch a better quality version of the Movie on your home theater, in full surround. It should be the same theory with Games. Who's going to want to put up with that, when your own system and a broadband connection offers the same thing?
Do the/. Editors actually read the main page, on any sort of regular basis, or do they throw stories to the wind, and wait for us to flame the hell out of them?
Some people will spend $600+ on a videocard that will last 2 months, before there's a bigger, faster, better version... yet a DVD/CDRW Drive that will kick ass for 6-12 months, and still be highly functional for years to come, is too expensive at $300....
For the large number of you who don't actually read the articles before posting: Most of the article is about replacing Skin, Muscle, and Nerves, not bone structure (which defines how you look)
So if you're oriental, and still you want to look like Bruce Campbell, you're still going to have to replace your hand with a chain saw, and get a chin implant, and fight off the evil dead 3 times. This isn't going to do it alone.
Working in a call center, i get the occasional deaf call.
It takes tremendous amounts of time, because not only does the translator have to interpret what the customer is saying, so that i can hear it, he then has to translate what i say back to the customer. It takes ages, and i'd imagine that with a cell phone, having a comptuer immediately translate, if slightly less accurate, would be preferable to having a human slowly (compared to the comptuer) enter it. Speed Vs Ease of Comprehension. Pretty common comparison. To each their own
If they could make 3d glasses, that allowed me to peer around corners in Quake, or other 3D Shooters, i'd Bite... But intill then, i think i'll pass.
I will however, take enjoyment in watching others bend their necks and lean in funny directions, as their brain trys to look around the 3D corners. Reminds me of my wife playing Mario Kart, swinging the SNES Controller around, leaning into corners....
I've heard of this man, he was a doctor. Went by Dr. Frankenstein. He did something similar to this as well. You know, created a being. He considered it his child, while everyone around him called it a 'Monster'
I'm sure we'll have religious types, who will refer to this as the same, but are they really wrong?
Amazing that the company would choose to promote a fastfoodchain, that requires you leaving the house. I would have more expected Sim Pizza, which can be ordered to your door.
Outside is overrated anyway (if you're a simaddict)
Even if you live in the heart of a city, or near the heart of a city, sitting in an unlit soccer/football field, can be better than your backyard. Lights directly overhead will create far more glare, than lights from afar. Granted, you're not going to get nearly the show people in outlying counties will, but you'll get a better show than you would sitting under a street light.
As far as seating goes, i've always found the most success, lying on a blanket [even with a foot of snow on the ground], as opposed to a lawnchair, because no matter how far back you lean in a lawn chair, your neck will be sore from craning in the morning.
That's quite the LCARS Skin they use onboard... I wonder if it's Gnome or KDE?
For someone writing letters in the 19th century, his signature Looks disturbingly like typeface....

Yes, then you'd put them on a spaceship with Rosie O'Donnell, and Tom Arnold, and send them into the Sun right?
In Other news, Microsoft buys up Pokemon/Yugioh, inorder to sell more tablet PC's.....

I must have wandered into an alternate universe again.
The operation is to be called a 'Faceplant'
Go fig.
I vote we call it a FacePlant instead.

No, they named if after an animal, who's best defense mechanism is to become a soccerball
Is this like the PenisMightier? What matters Trebek, is Does it Work?

Are we talking about the brain as we use it, or the brain, at it's full potential?

More like a bunch of choir boys start toting Unix.
Just imagine the billboards we are going to see....

Fewer Employees + Same Pay + More Work Per Employee = Unhappy Employees
