Paypal has had that feature working with any browser, without installing any BHOs (or whatever the IE only software is they require now), and without having to be invited to the beta. Just go to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/shop/v debit/
No gyroscopes are used to actually provide mechanical stabilization. The "gyros", which are really "angular rate sensors" feed into the computer, which controls the speeds of the drive wheels to make sure that the base is always under the CG of the vehicle (maintaining balance).
From their front page it looks like a good old fashoned slashdotting:

We are currently experiencing heavy traffic from all of our enthusiastic volunteers and the site is running quite slowly. We are working to add server capacity, so things should speed up over the next several hours. Thanks as always for your patience.
Please note that my client currently holds a US trademark, patent, and copyright (since those are all interchangable on the internet these days) on "Posting a Fake Cease and Desist Order on a Message Board Claiming Ownership of Some Obvious and Often-Used Idea in order to Satirize an Article or Story in which Money-Hungry Corporations or Individuals Abuse Patent, Trademark, or Copyright Law for Their Own Selfish Gain." We ask at this time that you cease and desist all use of such fake cease and desist notices immedialtly.
Similar to a Studio Kit, this headset does not come with a Microphone and comes as an optional separate item with the headphones, having a clip-on that is used so to attach the microphone to the clothing.
When I enter the code on the site, it asks for my birthday. I enter it (I was born in 1984) and it gives me an error saying that I am too young and that I have to be over 18 to participate.
Yeah, but it's slowed way down. In my first year at mypoints, I earned enough for a $100 Sharper Image gift certificate. It took me two years (just clicking emails) to earn my most recent $20 gift certificate. Almost anything worth points these days requires a credit card.
The only company putting optical IS on its compact and sub-compact point and shoot cameras was Konica Minolta, but they pulled out of the camera and photography business entirely a few weeks ago.
That's where the confusion comes from. The small headlines appear with the big headlines in the order they are posted, and despite their appearance, they aren't "attached to anything."
However, I agree that a topical "attachment" would be great.
You can try to explain to people that the two pixel green bar means it's separate, but if everyone who looks at it immediatly thinks that that they are footnotes to the previous story, your UI is bad.
Go ahead and spring for whatever extra code you need to make it look intuitive.
That's exactly my problem. The upwards curving edge looks like it is supposed to be the bottom part of the downwards curving headline above it. Perhaps if the bar curved in the same way as the normal headline bars it wouldn't be so bad.
The best solution would be to have a separate sidebar or something that listed all the "lesser" stoies, and not trying to do it inline. However, if Slashdot is really attached to doing it inline, you could only show stories from the same topic were under each story, so that a story from the Apple section might be followed by a list of other, less newsworthy, apple stories.
The article says: "An enhanced version of the service will use peer-to-peer file-sharing technology to get the video data to viewers... For those who want to watch on a big screen, AOL is introducing optional technology that it says will produce a DVD-quality picture."
So, if you want lower resolution 320x240ish video, you can download directly. If you want DVD quality, you use their P2P client. Seems fair to me.
When we say "DivX," we are not referring to the Digital Video Express
(DIVX/DVE) service previously marketed by Circuit City. If you need
information about Circuit City's DIVX, you might try the DIVX Owners'
Association.

This feature has been around for years and years.

Not to nitpick, but the gyros don't spin -- they're solid state.
Yes, AOL Instant Messenger. Just add the number to your buddy list.
Vortex,

How about this one:

Last time I checked, 2006-1984=22.
Umm, you do know that Media Center is XP Pro, right? It just has one additional pre-installed application.

So let me get this straight: 84% of the French have a parasite which, in rats, causes them to surrender to their enemies.
See, the French always surrendering isn't their fault! It's the parasite!
"I wonder just how much energy (besides the mass of Marty/Delorean) would be needed to roll the clock back 30 years, if it's calculable."
1.21 Gigawatts, of course.
All the digicams I've owned have had that as an option.

Basically, DivX the codec was named to make fun of Circuit City's DIgital Video eXpress. From http://www.divx.com/support/what.php:

"Before it was called, America Online, Quantum Link provided a pre-Internet online service to Commodore users."
Should be:

All the payments he gets via paypal are taxable income. That income, minus paypal fees, is then donated.
Therefore, the amount donated is less than the amount of extra (taxable) income recieved, so he pays more taxes.
What, were they running the server on Linspire?
Yes, it will go nicely with the free registration code I got from CT Magazine's web site back in April.
