    The satellites don't "find" you or "tell you where you are."

    Of course, once the GPS unit has computed your position, anything with RF transmission capability can phone home and relay that information.

    These radio's do just that.
    So does this Air Force SAR radio.
    Even this thing like LoJack called ThiefJack
    Even the Call For Help Watch to track your children can do it.

    I would pretty much assume that this technology will be in every GPS capable device within the next few years.

    One other thing - breaking the law doesn't exactly make a person a "criminal"; they aren't suddenly some evil hateful person who only does bad things and so on. Defining a person by their actions is easy to do and is considered "reasonable" but usually results in inaccurately classifying someone's whole personality and overlooking other aspects of his or her personality and behaviour.


    The RIAA and Congress disagree.

    My company bills me out at ~$160/hr.

    Of course, I only see ~1/5 of that as my hourly wage, they get the rest of it for overhead/insurance/profit/etc.

    So, instead of a magnifying glass in their purse/pocket, you propose to load them up with digital camera's, head mounted LCD's, the batteries for such devices, space to store spare cables/connectors for the inevitable shopping cart/car door issues that will arise.
    Seems to me the magnifying glass is the easiest, most un-obtrusive, lowest learning curve, no power required, best solution.

    As an added bonus, if they break the magnifying glass at the supermarket, there is an aisle with more so they can have an insta-replacement.

    That is just our best explanation.

    Everyone knows there is frozen water on Mars, but, was it ever liquid and did it have any chemicals that could sustain our version of 'life', is the real question.

    The video input is an RCA jack!

    The 'computers' are old HP Series 300 stations.

    It's called single stream recycling.

    Our entire town does it. You put everything into one can, and then the garbage company takes it to a facility where minimum wage workers hand sort it.

    Supposedly it's more efficient.
