  1. Seriously, WTF?! on Is There Still Racism in IT Hiring Practices? · · Score: 1
    GP:
We have a shop full of indians(big tech firm), and my boss pulled me to the side just today and asked me to make sure that I hired a white or a black guy for the spot that just opened up.

Looks to me like they are doing some "affirmative action", you know, "anti-racism".
    You:
Those who are racist will complain that non-racist (i.e. "diverse" or "multi-cultural", although those are loaded words) companies get plum deals (from govt. or whoever) because they hire minorities and are getting some sort of special treatment. The reality is that non-racist companies outperform those companies which are not, and therefore deserve the deals.
And here you say that this company is racist for purposely trying to add mix to it's homogenious workforce, and that the "diverse" "multicultural" companies are destined to outperform them for their racism?! "Multicultural" means affirmative action in common usage, so you call them racists for trying to become what you consider non-racist?! My head just exploded!
Seriously, you're only calling them racists because they want to hire a white man (or black notice!), and to purposely not hire one of your ethnic brethren, using the zaniest doublespeak I could imagine to justify your hypocritical position.
Personally I'm against affirmative action, but I don't give it 2 opposite meanings, and I don't give "racist" 2 opposite meanings either, and I certainly don't combine some twisted change-up of the 2 meanings mid-paragraph to confuse lazy mods.

Not necessarily. Darwinian evolution doesn't necessarily dictate that the best mutation wins out. It generally suggests that the mutation best adapted to the species' circumstances will survive, but really, anything that works well enough to allow further breeding will still continue to exist.
C'mon, this is really just arguing about the semantics of what the "best mutation" is, for if it doesn't confer enough advantage to noticeably increase the rate at which it is passed down, it's really not the best, more like marginal or neutral. And if it does, it is passed down more often than the inferior gene variant, then it will get a higher frequency in the population, and over time it will supplant the inferior, or reduce it to insignificance. It's not that the inferior carriers can't survive, they just won't produce as many offspring, and over time through breeding with the superior carriers who exist in much higher numbers they will fade inexorably. And if they can exploit something in a way that the superior gene carriers can't, probably specialization and speciation occur. And most of those "absurd creatures" are quite well adapted in unobvious ways, or they don't have much competition, or live in some type of mediated environment.

True about the transmigration/colonisation thing. Europeans these days aren't very inclined to be pro-active at advancing the cause of their ethnic groups(you know, tribalism), maybe WWII has something to do with this, maybe it's just "enlightenment and equality" as told by socialism, but the immigrants sure are taking advantage of it, and the breaking point is approaching. Also, when a political party is in power that traditionally gets a high majority of immigrant votes, it's funny how they "champion the cause of refugees" or "help the economy grow" by raising immigration quotas, pure gerrymandering (yes I'm talking to you canadian liberal party!) .

Just because the majority here are anti-bush, doesn't make the majority here far-left liberals, no matter how oft repeated the assertion.

Sure it *could* have been a gba title, but I love the graphical enhancements, like the great sprite articulation, the(marginally) higher res, and the backgrounds are amazing(didn't think it could top SOTN bg's but it did!). Plus having an onscreen map relieves alot of the frustrations that happen when you get lost, none of that headache causing(to me) map/gameplay switching, and I even found myself using the stat screen faily often(like soul hunting). And as for the touchscreen features, it's not just seals and menus, you can control your familiars movements(not completely) too, pretty neat actually. Sure it's not terribly innovative in gameplay, nor was the music what it could have been(it was decent), but I had no trouble putting 2 hours a day into this game for 2 weeks, which is alot for me.

I do agree that windows won't let you get away with that though. Sure what you have works for you, but it's not the only viable option. Exactly, recognizing the importance of having many children above the temptation of self indulgant materialism may be a different(and evolutionarily superior) type of intelligence. My great grandfather had one child, and was a mulit-millionaire(in the 20's which is hundreds of millions today) who owned a shitload of land. He was arguably very intelligent in business, but he had vices, and lost his fortune by running someone down with his car while drunk and paying out a shitload in the lawsuit. My grandfather(the ggf's one kid) on the other hand, was also very intelligent, but he chose to have alot of kids(9) and thus was always low on money paying for them, but this was his conscious choice. I'm trying to do both(money plus kids), and maybe I'll suceed being arguably much smarter than my predicessors, but it's a PITA to find a woman of good genes these days who will accept the pain and sacrifice of many births(womans lib sucks sometimes), may have to import me a willing and superior immigrant from a 3rd world country whose culture agrees with my views wrt children. This is what I call "larger consciousness", consciousness of your line, and even the species. Thinking of yourself alone will lead to extinction.
