You do know a life destroying comet could come at anytime don't ya? I will not allow some fucked up nihilist to stop the human race in it's tracks waiting for extinction.
Amazing how many mod points get spent on MS stories these days, and mod up MS propaganda like this, with billions of dollars you can even rationalize paying people to conduct/. subterfuge I guess!
This should be a warning to any game developers and publishers of the type of control MS plans to enduce if they get significant control over the console market. If you thought the restriction and high liscensing fees of the snes were bad, imagine what a console monopoly by MS would yeild.
The GP clearly stated that they can be tested with a warrant, and it's already in law that you can get warrants for SUSPECTS, so not knowing as a fact the guilt of the suspect would not protect them from being tested. And using a rapist identification scenario is a little underhanded, why didn't you add that they were a child rapist? And what is wrong with it being illegal to covertly conduct genetic tests on employees, seems to fit perfectly with the spirit of other privacy laws. Your argument about "shouldn't shed your crap then..." is about a logical as arguing that you shouldn't use imperfect data transfer protocols if you want legal data privacy, and that hacking and intercepting these susceptible protocols should be no crime. Or that you should have lead lined walls if you want to prevent your neighboor from spying on your actions inside your house using heat detection cameras, and that the neighboor is committing no crime. Employers aren't your god, nor your government, they do not have a right to violate legitimate forms of privacy, just as you do not have the legal right to hack people or use surveillance equipment to spy into a private residence.
Actually, it's sad at how many beginning CS students are D3D fanboys these days, bashing OGL at every turn. I suspect that MS is currently doing a VERY heavy astroturfing campaign at the various beginner game programming forums. They are out for OGL blood.
It's true, I used to think that SA'ians were racist assholes, until I did some reading on the history of the place, much different scenario than what most people would guess.
That is something different, it allows, with just the right wireless card chipset, transferring executable from your PC to the the, as long as they fit in ram.
This is a bounty for writing a wireless driver and net stack that would allow homebrew and open source projects on the DS to go online.
Commercialization, done this way, could be good. For instance, many of the problems of NASA are due to the ebb and flow of politicians in washington. If they use lots of government money to encourage a private space industry(beyond sattelites), then there's a chance of innovative business models to spring up and expand the space sector in new ways, such as the suggested space tourism. But it could go beyond that, from rich cults wanting to relocate off of earth, to space minning etc, all things that a government only program would not have any reason to pursue, and ultimately prices will go down and capabilities will go up. Do I honestly think it'll work nearly this well though? No way, politcal winds will always fuck up anything that touches NASA.

"The case also targets the producers of the Terminator franchise."
With the date difference between the matrix and the terminator, I'd say she just wrote a script about governing computer mainframes and machines in the 70's, submitted it to a bunch of people, noticed some story similarities, and obsessively thought they stole her work...lawyers...profit!!!
And by the time private industry can do worthwhile manned spaceflight China will have a moonbase and a mars mission, and the colonial future of mars will be communist and racially/culturally shallow. HUGE ventures are best served by governments.
I have a feeling that the military space program is getting all the NASA funds/govt. attention. Which imho isn't the smartest, sure they can blow away foreign sattelites, spy from space with multiple optical frequencies and high granularity, and probably a bunch of land targetting weapons aswell, but all of this is classified military stuff. So getting beaten in the public arena by the chinese will harm the american self-image, a space arms race is already in progress, lack of technology that is transferable to civillian society, humanity is missing out on scientific benefits, and we're not working towards making humanity not have all it's eggs in one basket(on earth).
So you say only 10% of potential owners of the are interested in playing it online? For one I doubt that assertion is anywhere near accurate, but that's not my point yet. I'd say only about 5% are interested in playing the game in local multiplayer, who really has 3 friends with DS' compared to who has one DS and a WIFI connection?
The big loss is that, especially for us adult DS owners, we aren't going to be playing local wireless DS with 4 friends very often. If this game were online it would have provided me with much fun, now I have to judge it solely on single player, which might make the game not worthy of a purchase depending.
Main peice of software is outlook, have to use IE, and filtered internet? Wow, I bet it's really hot down there, atleast until DNF comes out anyway;) .
Considering the saturn sold 9.2mil units, the dreamcast sold 10.6mil units and the xbox sold 19.9mil units, I wouldn't call the saturn a definitive insurmountable failure or the xbox a difinitive success and excellent launching point.

Well, commie and anarchist aren't exactly ideological cousins either, please be more thorough in your corrections next time or don't bother.

Sure that explains their plan, but it doesn't explain how a sane human would fall for it. What is wrong with people?

Never know, it could be a dues ex style RPG, so it could be both FPS and RPG. It would make a lame and dissapointing traditional FPS though.

Obviously "just" was meant in the sense of singularly, and not "if only" or whatever. Couldn't you tell by context?
