    to his competitors. When he was competing the competitions were pretty friendly and it didn't occur to anyone he'd lie to them. He gave them a routine that was massive overwork. They tried to stick to it and of course burned themselves out.

    What's the old saying? Never ask a man how he made his first million. Odds are if someone didn't inherit it or win the lottery they did something awful to get it.

    there's a massive round of layoffs as redundancies are eliminated or people are forced to work harder to hang onto their crap jobs. If you wanted efficiency, well you got it.

    c. Hold school later in the day as study after study shows is optimal while having a proper mass transit system so they kids can get there.

    Make a law that you can only donate to a candidate directly and only if you can personally vote for them. Then limit the amount you can donate to something along the lines of $500 dollars or less. Punish violations by banning any and all people from holding public office. Then require anyone who holds an office above dog catcher to retire from public life after their term is served. Problem solved.

    At least not right now. Things like cloths, soap, house good, etc are often half the price on Amazon. There's a phrase for it: The High Cost Of Being Poor. Meaning you're too poor to take advantage of cost saving measures.

    but they popularized it with the Apple I/II. On the Smart Phone front they broke the stranglehold that the cell companies had that had stagnated technology in the West. They brought Unix to the desktop without having to fight with your wi-fi. Heck the whole Personal Digital Assistant thing was theirs (Siri).

    They've done cutting edge before. This isn't it. And that's kinda telling. At the moment their following, not leading.

    It's single _payer_. We're not nationalizing care and it's not a government take over of health care (whatever Rush & Hannity tells ya). We're just changing who pays the bills. The bills still get paid. Those jobs go from being crap jobs with shit benefits and no job security to government jobs with all the benefits and protections therein.

    There's an excellent chance we're going to move to single payer in the next 20 years. The big money isn't in care, it's in being a middle man that skims 10% off the top. A shift to single payer gets rid of most if not all of those middle men...

  23. This is vigilantism, which outside of 90s arcade beat'em ups is not a good thing. The rule of law says force should only be used by the government and then is very, very, very tightly controlled and regulated. Notice I said 'force' not violence. There's a difference. The government only uses violence as an act of war. A cop uses just enough force to subdue; more is excessive and gets the cop fired and possibly prosecuted (yeah, I know the practical reality isn't always the same but we're talking principles and ideas here).

    "Let's all be Rational!" just doesn't have much of a ring to it. Elections are decided by the emotional. e.g. voters who can be swayed one way or another. If you push for rationality you'll just lose when the other side uses clear slogans and emotions to get votes. This is one of those "How the sausage is made" aspects of politics.

    Globalism isn't necessarily the problem. The problem is abandoning the poor and working class. Everytime anyone's done that a populist like Trump has ridden a wave of fear and discontent to power and bad stuffs happened. If you want things to settle down you'll have to get behind the side that makes sure folks are taken care of. That is and always will be the left. I suppose you could skip the label if it makes you feel better, but it'll make it harder to rally folks to the cause.
