the natural sequel to DS9 of course - in which Captain Steven P. Jobs explores the strange new worlds of the seemingly enless tract of space called Intel 4 and it's sister universe Athlon.
The main ally in Athlon will be the Durons. A technologically slow but friendly race with a cranial crest of metal spikes which can be used as a weapon in pinch and the ability to do most calculations in their heads.
Captain Steve on the intrepid ship OSS Xmac will, on a weekly basis, have to partner with the inferior but faithful Athlons to deal with the schemeing inhabitants of the Intel universe and their ability to subsume entire worlds by taking over the population using their superior weapons R&D and the ability to heat up and melt plastic if threatened.
Lone Iraqi soldier with a garbage bag and a 'sensor scooper' - picking up thousands of little plastic sensors - picks up last one... C-130 flies by and drops thousands more.. you hear "chraa! chraa! chraa!"
You've been sucked into the megahertz myth once again. Mac people tend to be slower, shallower - but with a wider intake of information, therefore processing information at roughly the same speed as a Windoze user. So the apparently 'slower' OS makes no difference at all. Lastly - Mac people tend to 'work together' on things. Two or more will gang up to solve a problem - each taking a part of it - then assembling the finished result - so when speed is a 'problem' we just toss another brain at it to the same end.
but I've used a (current) top'o the line TiBook - and it flies. I'm not talking about benchmarks (I know - sacrilege here), just how it feels. The tech-lust gene kicks in a big way when you have your hands on the keyboard. you feel like you're piloting a titanium Lear jet. I know this sounds like a commercial (modders, do your worst..), but the combination of the Ti and the iPod is like a dream come true for me (more so when I upgrade my 550). OS X - Classic - Unix - Virtual PC - and with 6 (count 'em) SIX - unabridged books (from Audible.com) in my iTunes which autosync (and bookmark my spot!) to iPod ranging from A.C. Clarke to business to Ayn Rand.
Closest I've come to tech Nirvana...
Sorry...I'm tech drunk - I've said too much - (but you're some of the few people in the world who can understand). Forgive me.
...says we're to cease and desist photographing the "bad side". Wants per-shot contract pay for autographed stills and publication rights, (was fishing for some 'bad pub' to make the trades).
Titan still in negotiation for close-up fees, (is off getting demabrasion). Other moons may band together and boycott for better 'extra' fees.

God does not play dice with the universe.
Looks like He just blows bubbles with it. Or maybe He's making a giraffe. In the end we may find out we exist inside of a cosmic balloon animal. God! I hope we're not a snake hat.
After 5 years, I still use a Newton (current is 2100). Like reading/. it's a very bad but self-redeeming habit. God knows I've tried to stop. Anyone know of a support group? I checked out Newton Anonymous but that was just an anti-grav group...

Got confused though. He also thought it made interns invisible.

Monopoly's all in the mind
Intention is king of the hill,
If my love for the Mac makes me blind,
the look of XP makes me ill.
80% of the stuff out for sale,
is crap that I'd never once use,
the 20 percent left - suits me just fine,
and leaves plenty of choices to choose.
And - in the end - because Cocoa is sweet,
The objective is clear,
I can roll my own suite.
