Before he was elected, I believe there hadn't been a Republican govenor in California in something like the past 50 years (not too sure, just some news blurb I heard).
Why repeat it if you are not sure. Before our Democratic Governor was recalled, Pete Wilson was the Governor of California, a republican.
California has a very liberal state assembly because of how the districts are laid out, however Californians tend to vote conservative. In recent years we passed propositions to get rid of bilingual education, stop illegals from getting government assistance, only recognize a marriage between a man and a woman, and recall our Democratic governor.
The idea of a Republican taking California in a presidential election is not far fetched at all.

Well, no study came out this week on coffee. This is just a single dietician saying it might be good for you because it contains some potentially beneificial stuff. No studys. No reasearch. Just one person's opinion based on nothing more than, "Well, it has some stuff in it that might be good for you."
Anyone know where I can play some IF via telnet? I'm stuck at the airport using my sidekick. I wanna see if I can play one of these via the telnet/ssh client.
One of the biggest problems geeks have is that they have no sense of class or taste. If it doesn't have a million blinking blue leds on it, they don't buy it.
So buy him something nice and classy. For $100 you can buy him a nice analog watch or maybe a nice shirt or two.
He may not appreciate it at first, but this way when you drag him along to a social function or he has to work with someone other than a fellow geek he'l have something to wear that actually looks good and he'll be able to fit in. After he gets a few compliments on his watch or clothes he'll want to wear them every time he goes out.
I wish they'd at least write some explanations of their "photo processing". All I see are large.jpgs of rocks run through a Photoshop filter with vague statements about "artifacts" and "cover ups". What am I supposed to be seeing?
The technology that I hate most is model r/c airplanes. The damn things look so cool hanging from the hobby shop ceiling.
You end up spending more money on one than it would cost you to built a moderate PC, spend hours upon hours assembling it, then wreck it 5 mintues into its maiden flight because you couldn't find anywhere where to fly the damn thing that had enough open tree-free space.
So then you swear off the whole model rc thing. But about 3 weeks later you decide you've got to do something with all the old radio equipment and servos from the last plane, so you buy a new model so the parts don't go to waste. Then you find out you need a new ESC and smaller/bigger servos so go spend more money. Then spend hours assembling it again just to crash it 5 minutes into its maiden flight.
This process repeats ad nausem.
And if you do manage to find a big enough open space that you can fly your plane for more than 5 minutes, you quickly learn that it is really fucking boring flying a model R/C plane.
"Oh look, I just flew another circle. Oooh, I did a barrel roll. Ooooh, I just did a loop. Now what?"
Isn't it kind of a stretch to say Fark.com has coverage of it? At least Slashdot tends to give you a paragraph or two summary, at fark you get one line, and a bunch of unmoderated comments.
Doesn't the Suzuki GSX-1300 Hyabusa do this also and for a lot less?
This is why you have multiple CV's. You customize it to the job requiements.
Was it really 100 CD Burners, or is this like that RIAA raid where they used "cd burner equivelents?" (ie. 2 x 50X speed cd burners)
Well, Suprnova.org is still up, so they couldn't have been that sucessful in dismantling the distribution of pirated material.
Uh, that was the joke.
Don't forget the "hidden" 4th law about not being able to arrest an OCP executive.
It had been running on Web* on Mac OS.

You must not have tried hard enough. Eventually you will get the flask. Alas, it turns out it is a load bearing flask.
Did anyone even know they had any? Last I checked the Japanese government was all for large overreaching companies.

So to answer your question, not much.

Yeah, but if Bush has his way Walmart will be able to start importing labor from Mexico.
What's so odd about Volkswagen using GM parts in their vehicles?
Is there a color photo somewhere? The link in the story only points to a B&W photo with a red filter put on it.
Maybe he meant Disney's The Black Hole.

So what happened on Friday? Wasn't that the day the court was going to comment on what SCO provided to IBM?
No. The $1 is gross to the musicians. Then they have to pay for everything.
