    i learned to program on basic on an old TI, I know this doesn't lead well into C, But it gets them started with something they will use heavily in their high school years

    When Ike hit, Most of houston was without power for about a week. It's amazing how many generators I saw installed afterward. Is this really cheaper then a generator and a couple weeks worth of fuel?

    McCain/Obama were elected to via the primaries. The people had already decided he was qualified. I've never seen so many people at the democratic primary in texas... Ever. McCain by picking somebody unqualified for his first appointment did disqualify himself. how did we know when the first supreme court opening came around he wouldn't nominate Judge Judy?

    Amen, Is there a single reason why it's still illegal that's not pulled out some 80's propaganda. I'm pretty more people die from tylenol every year then pot. (100 people per year die from acetaminophen)

    the HPC market is really moving towards nvidia. the problem is cuda is designed for nvidia cards only. OpenCL can be used on either. While i hear there is a converter, I wonder how good it is about converting optimizations. One of the big things about GPGPU's is the wacky array of memory locations you have to deal with, Some of them main memory can't see, some of them only have read access to the gpu, and some is just faster.

    ok assuming home use you're still going to need to have a spinning disk for two reasons: 1. you still need a place to put the bootloader, might as well have it on the disk because your going to have the disk anyway because of: 2. You still the large capacity drive to hold all of you pron/movies/music.

    My next cluster is going to be based around Tesla's. GPU's are the future. It takes 100,000 x86 cores to get a petaflop, You can get there with 25,000 if you use cells(5K x86, 20k cells) You can do the same thing with 10k if you use GPU's (5k x86, 5k Tesla's) Guess what the cheapest option is? They might not be the most energy efficient, but haven't we learned the problem with custom chips in HPC market, That's why we went to clusters in the first place

    um.... I could careless about multi touch, I could see a few games using it, but zooming isn't a problem with the web browser. What I want is a maps type App that auto rotates based on the compass. Is that really that hard?
