  1. I hope i get sued... on RIAA Sues Nearly 500 New Swappers · · Score: 2, Interesting

Someone needs to take them to court. I share copywrited music (about 400 songs), and i really hope that they get around to suing me. Why you may ask? Because i have the means (well my parents do) for a lawyer, my dad, working in the music industry understands the issue, and lastly i'm not sharing their music. This is why i hope i get sued. Every single one of the bands whos music i share is local and in fact a few have given me the OK. Most of the MP3s i got from the old MP3.com and some ripped from cds that i've double checked to make sure the label isn't a subsidiary or connected to the RIAA in any way. Hell, the bass player from one band messaged me after he saw i was sharing their music and offered to put me on the guest list of their show that night. Lets see the RIAA make the misstake of fighting for something they dont have the rights too. Besides, i need something to do this summer...

Yeah, got pissed and canceled my paypal acount a while ago otherwise i'd toss a couple of bucks your way, sorry, but yeah, keep up the awesom gnome bouncing work! :)

But it seems to be what you want, since its not out yet, obviously no reviews, but linksys makes a decent product. Its not an archive, its a portability thing, i have over 300 cds and i'll also be ripping some of my dad and sisters cds all in 256kb MP3. I'd like to keep the entire thing below 80GB, since i have a lot of video (archived TV shows on about 300 cds...) that i need room for too. I'm not an audiophile, although my system has 7.1+ surround, but i dont need lossless, this is mostly just so i dont have to take my CDs with me.

  8. Good. on Vorbis And Musepack Win 128kbps Multiformat Test · · Score: 4, Interesting

Good to know MP3 is still improving. Yes vorbis and others are great, but i know every software and hardware player out there plays MP3. I'll be ripping all my cds to high quality MP3 befor i go to college, not because its the absolute best, but because its a standard. Standards aren't always the most efficient, but their strength lies that you cant change them on a week to week basis. Whatever hologrphic storage based finger sized half terabyte 24th generation iPod i buy ten years from now will probably still play my 128 and 256 MP3s.

My favorite coffee shop in town, Comet, sells something called a speedball (same thing as Alterra's redeye...) its a cup of house strong with two shots of espresso in it, that'll wake you up before class. Comet also sells something called a switchblade, which IIRC is a pint of mocha with 4 shots in it, Mmm.

I manage to get by with 2 notebooks, pens/markers and my calculator and a book/novel in my bag, and when i need to i go to my locker and *gasp* carry a book. Its a helluva lot easier on the back to pack smartly. Whats even worst than the huge backpacks are the rolling ones. No wonder american kids are so fat, they're too lazy to carry their own books. I cant stand the freshmen who dont realize they dont have to; have a notbook and binder for every class and carry those and every book at once in a rolling piece of luggage. I've tripped over enough that i wish someone would get seriously injured so they could be banned. I have a week of high school left, and i'm gonna miss kicking those down the stairs...
