In this book, Parker describes his solution for the famous Cambrian explosion. What is the Cambrian explosion and why is it a problem? The Cambrian explosion is the fact that 543 million of years ago there were 3 animal phyla and 538 million of years ago there were 38 animal phyla. So in 5 million years 35 phyla originated. Darwin already recognised this as a problem for his theory of gradual evolution. It seems too fast for gradual evolution. Religious critics routinely use it as an argument against evolution. But even some non-religious critics use it to refute gradual evolution. Critics often distort and exaggerate the problem, but hardly study it. There are several good popular science books describing the Cambrian Explosion, but Parker is the first who describes it and solves it.

I have the book and highly recommend it to anyone interested in the science of cooking. As for the great staple controversy, here is a paraphrase of what is said: as long as youre using a microwave oven with a turntable and dont place the bag where the staples can rub up agains the wall, no fires or sparking will happen. This is because the staples have very little mass and are shorter than a microwave wavelength, rendering them 'invisible'. P.S. Use two staples only, placed 2 - 3 inches apart.

It would cost $772.20 to use one hundred 25 watt incandescents for 13 hours a day for one year compared to only $30.80 using these light-equivalent LEDs - a savings of $741.40. They only produce 3.4 BTUs/hr. compared to 85 for incandescents - no more heat problems. And they fit in standard recepticles, lamps, recessed cans, track lights, any place you would use a normal bulb. The 17 LED version replaces a 25 watt incandescent and uses only 1.7 watts. 9 LEDs in a n A-19 bulb - the same style as a typical incandescent (2 3/8 diameter). They look the same, have the same base, and replace a 25 watt incandescent while using less than .9 watts.
